I was not too sure about this with all the other reviews, but I bought it anyway. Well I'm so glad I did, this works great for me. I have medium hair about shoulder length. I put it on medium and it dried my hair with curlers. It never shut off, in fact it was a bit warm. I don't know if the other people got defective ones, but mine works just fine. The second time I used the straightening comb, I believe my hair didn't come out as great because of all the rain and humidity-- not because the product sucks. I'm a not an expert on dryers in any way, but after doing research I found that this was one of best hair dryers on the market. I'm very happy with my purchase. Too much heat is never a good thing on anyone's hair. Even at its highest setting the heat is not too hot; or at least hot enough to make anyone uncomfortable. It's also fairly quiet, which is plus. Highly recommended.
