Makes AUTHENTIC gumbo is 1/5 the usual time!
I lived in Louisiana for 15 years before moving to New England, so I've had LOTS of gumbo. Making gumbo from scratch can take as long as 3 hours from cooking the meat to making the roux and then putting it all together to simmer. VERY RICH - NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
I love stuffing and dressing & Zatarain's products but this mix falls short. It calls for one half stick of butter and the cooked product is really oily. Butter is all you can taste. Perhaps more cornbread would help? Also the product is bland. I hope to see a "New & Improved" package of Zatarain's Cornbread Stuffing Mix on the supermarket shelves soon! There rice mixes are wonderful.

Sooo Goood!
My husband adds chicken to this and we always take this when we go to potluck type events... It is always a hit! When we have friends over for dinner they request this meal. I highly recommend this.

Cheesy dirty rice isn't "cheesy" :}
Cheese and rice go well together, especially with a little ground beef or sausage and spices. This is a combination that's hard to beat. Just provide the meat and it's good right from the start, or spice it up and enjoy doubly. A distinctly tasty treat.

Tasty, but not enough for 5 people
These meals are tasty, easy to prepare, and inexpensive. However, while the box claims that it feeds five people, I've found that two and a half is closer to the mark. Even so, it's a good value.

make it a meal
This is a perfect one pot meal, just add ham cut into cubes, sautee celery, onion, and ham, add to pot following manufactuers directions and throw in a 15oz can of chopped tomatoes, awesome, everyone thinks you are Emeril, I'll never let on! Can't find this one anymore in our local stores, so this is a great way to shop.

Yummy!
This is my favorite side dish. It is so versatile and so very easy to make. It tastes great with any and every kind of sausage I've ever tried. I love to make it when I whip up a batch of hot wings.
