Clancy on steroids

All Vince Flynn's books are action from start to finish. Great reading but difficult to put down.

Gripping, masterful political thriller

Although Mitch Rapp doesn't make an appearance, readers will recognize many of the characters from that series. Instead, congressman Michael O'Rourke takes center stage in a story involving assassinations of several key politicos in an effort to end corruption in American politics.

What struck me about this novel is how Flynn has taken an interesting idea, created likable and complex characters, and paced the story perfectly. For a first novel, this is an absolutely amazing feat. It's difficult to imagine any fan of political thrillers not enjoying this effort.

Since Term Limits, Flynn has written, I believe, six more novels. And while I've enjoyed all of his books, I really believe that this, his first, may still be his best. Highly recommended for any fan of the genre.

Better than Clancy...

This is my first Vince Flynn novel and I must say I like it. Very entertaining as I've had a hard time putting the book down.

Offers an interesting insight into the backrooms of the whitehouse and tells a great story.

I'm hooked on Vince.

Flynn Strikes a Nerve

I've gotten bored with Clancy and haven't even bothered with his last three books. I read "Memorial Day" after seeing Flynn on the talk circuit and was hooked. Went to my library to start with him at the beginning.

My comments aren't so much on the book specifics as much on the style and intent of the auther. Flynn presents a view point of waht many of Americans want to embrace. A group of ex-seals who not only believe in the tenants of The Constitution, but, are willing to put their lives on the line to bring those values back into the American forefront. It's not as farfetched as it reads. While I wouldn't advocate (at this point) what is done, it does show how very much our elected officials are out of touch and need to be brought to attention.

Nothing that is proposed in the book as the changes are needed is out of line. In fact, I think that what they ask for is not far enought. I could see this re-written today with the demands including The Fair Tax.

Flynn's polictical idealouge should keep him in the top ten sellers for many years. There is a market for folks who are like minded.

Great Book

This is a great book. After reading this book I went on to read 4 Vince Flynn books. This is great stuff if you like politics and ACTION. I had never been a big reader before my son gave me this book. What a page turner. The chapters are short and the story line changes every 4-6 pages. This book and all of Vince Flynn books keep you on the edge of your seats
