More Gregory
Despite his anti-pencilism, I'm a major Danny Gregory fan. He's inspiring without being 'inspiring.' [i.e.,
you
'd rather hang out with the guy than drop flowers and fruit offerings at his feet.]
This is a wonderful book to dip into, read slowly and think about.
Inspiration for the Imagination
When I read the title of this book, I thought, "This is just what I need!". I wasn't wrong. Danny Gregory's words will change
you
r thought process when it comes to not only finding time to be
creative
, but also just allowing
yourself
to be free to create! So often we deny ourselves this simple pleasure. This book will make you see YOURSELF in a whole new light. Oh, and if you
are
thinking, "I can't even draw a straight line!" . . . what fun is a straight line anyway??? Danny puts it all in perspective. His "do it anyway" way of thinking is a breath of fresh air for the dusty corners of our imagination. If you have been wanting to put pen (or crayon or brush or marker) to paper, this is the book for you. It is a brilliant read and a big box of eye candy. Treat yourself!

everyone's creative
I love this book! This book is part manifesto, part how to and part reference book on realizing one's own
creative
potential. I can really go into lecture mode when someone tells me they're not creative. We all
are
creative but we've been told lies about it since childhood!
Gregory takes creativity out of the realm of "it's only for those born with talent, it's not practical,
you
can't make money as an
artist
, artists are crazy" and puts it realistically within everyone's reach. Seeing and drawing are skills that you can practice and become good at. And while you're at it, you'll have fun, maybe meet interesting people, and realize things about
yourself
you never knew. Go ahead, take the plunge, you have nothing to lose but your fear.

Ode to Danny Gregory!
Although I already embrace the
creative
part of me, and I did not need help learning to draw, Danny Gregory's book still helped me immensely. I was impressed that the basic principles of drawing
are
covered in the first 46 pages. The rest of the book is like hearing the words of an old friend who encourages and inspires. He made me laugh and cry. There are fabulous drawings on every page. My own work has changed and is improved since reading The Creative
License
; I have become addicted to visual journaling and I hope I never recover. I defy anyone to read it and not become motivated to grab a pen and get going! Definitely get this book.

On behalf of my wife...
Bought this as a gift for my wife, who struggles with finding time and inspiration to do more paintings and spend more off-time after work being
creative
. 2 kids and a job can take a lot of time...
This book has been one with many creative ideas and small, inspiring notes that have kept her thinking more about her artwork. Whenever she picks it up, it gives her just that small bit of inspiration to spend some time in the evening on an art project.
Which is better than I'd hoped.
