The good news of Judas
Gospel
of
Judas
is good news indeed, but only if you have an open mind concerning history and how it was recorded and transmitted. If you have made up your made about the "truth" and believe you have "the whole truth and nothing but the truth", this is not for you. It is a very revealing account about a very plausible take on the affairs surrounding the "greatest betrayal of all time". Even dyed-in-the-wool conservative Christians will have to admit that without Judas they would not have had a "sacrificial lamb" or saviour - so even they owe Judas a note of thanks, but that he may have actually been a close friend of Jesus is revealed in a most convincing way through this account.

An eye opener
I really enjoyed this book, very resourceful and made lots of sense. I also watched the documentary on T.V. It gives you things to think about and any info on Jesus and his life is truley a blessing
gnostic
It is interesting that
Judas
was gnostic too. Along with Jesus, himself, and the diciples. The message in the New Testament is that he hung himself. There is another version of what happened to him in the book by Barbara Thiering, "Jesus and the Riddle of the Dead Sea Scrolls". He had told Pontious Pilot where Jesus was for 30% of the profits of the Essene community, and they crucified him at the same time Jesus was crucified, that he "hung himself" in revealing this. They threw his body down the craven. This book is recorded with the account of Jesus' marriage to Mary Magdalene, with names of his children before and after the crucifixon. Jesus called Judas satan and his father he called Holy Spirit. Jonathan Annis the high priest had him crucified. he went up to the cave where they pray called
"heaven", to the father Jonathan Annis, He did not fly away into the sky, but lived into his 70's. Jesus Justis, and Phoebe are two of his children's names. So Judas did not kill himself nor betray Jesus for 30 pcs of silver.

Good book for sparking discussion and thought
The
Gospel
of
Judas
is a very good book in terms of sparking discussion and thought. For one thing, I believe it makes it clear (although we should already know this) that we do not know all the details or truths regarding early Christianity. This book opens our minds to the possibilities being presented by various writings not found in the Bible and to the actual process of how writings were chosen to be placed in what has become our current day Bible. Books like this one and the excellent True Truths (www.truetruths.com )continue to raise valid questions and give another perspective to what we've been told and taught all of our lives. Read The Gospel of Judas with an open mind, and use the information in it to add to intelligent conversations you may have with family, friends and acquaintances.

Captivating
If you like murder mysteries you'll love ths book. I read it in 3 days, couldn't put it down. Some of my friends see it as a threat to Christianity but I see it as informing people of the written documents that were once sacred to a group of Christians we now label as Gnostics. If all the tyrants in the world have not stamped out Christianity in 2000 years, I don't think Dan Brown will.
