Excellent reference
Tarascon
Pocket
Pharmacopoeia
is an excellent, pocket-sized drug reference that I utilize daily in clinic. Highly recommended for quality and portability.
Lots of good info in a small package!
I am a second year med student. It has already proven helpful in my classes for studying and case presentations. I can only imagine how useful it will be in a few months once I'm on rotations! All of the basic medication info is there, but it would be nice to have more info on side effects. Also, it has medications not listed on Epocrates, so it's still great to have if you are using a PDA.
Excellent pocket drug dosage reference
I am a resident physician and I find this book indispensable. It is the best reference for carrying in your
pocket
in order to look up drug doses. It has some other useful information such as pregnancy category, brand names, relative cost, peds dosing and other small but useful features. Nice index. I use this book several times a day every day (well, every work day), and it is the one book I make sure is always in my pocket. I use the
classic
T-
shirt
edition
- it fits in the top pocket of my lab coat so nicely.
It doesn't give you other drug information such as mechanisms, adverse effects, etc., but I never expected it to have that information. 95% of the time all I need to look up is the drug's dosing (including route and frequence, as well as typical time course), and that's what this book has. You can always consult larger sources online if you need to, but for writing orders every day - this is the book. It contains a large enough number of medications, too, so that very seldom will you run into a medication that is not in this reference.

Great resource for ER/Urgent care or private practice
Very handy book. Quick reference for prescribing medications and dosages-saves a lot of time in calculating children's dosage with the handy chart in the front.
Excellent reference
I find this an excellent reference for my practice in retail Rx-cy. Comprehensive and all inclusive. Y'all must include this volume in your pharmacy practice.
