An elightening journey of the mind, body, and soul

Everyone who has read this book should send a copy to our political leaders - especially our President! It has enlightened me and opened my eyes to the Islam world, something that most American leaders need done as well.

You will be glad you read this

I have actually never written a review, but Greg Mortenson suggested that writing this may help. This book will renew your faith in mankind and most likely teach you much about cultures and faith so misunderstood today. If you need a hero or a story of inspiration in these trouble times, this book may be it - don't pass it by.

Great book!

I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was very relavent to now and was touched to read what one man accomplished with just guts and determination. I think it shows an alternate to war!

Excellent Work

I was extremely delighted to read this book.Mortenson's efforts clearly articulate that if we help these parts of the world with eductaion we can go a long way in ending the evil of terrorism. He has been on spot with establising schools providing eductaion more importantly to the girls which can hopefully then create sustainable communities.
His work for me clearly establishes that if we are willing to make a difference in places which matter, the world will be a better place to live. In the next decade the results of his work will begin to trickle fown to rural Pakistan and hopefully will create a new forward looking generation free of all biases and ready to play a positive role in the society.

It is a must read for any one who has interest in the region.
