Excellent resource for all phases of the hiring process

Once again Lou Adler has done a great job of giving both the novice and the most seasoned recruiter a good overview of hiring candidates. This book is a must have for anyone who will ever hire a candidate for a job. Whether it be writing compelling job ads, sourcing candidates, using the interview process to assess candidate competency, or negotiating offers Lou gives you a variety of proven methods to make the right hire. This book is the most relevant one I have ever read on how to find the perfect candidate. I highly recommend it for anyone in business.

Lou Adler's 'Hire With Your Head: Using Performance-Based Hiring to Build Great Teams' was the first book I read after getting into the retained executive search business (after 20+ years in another career), and it helped me get a solid footing to my new career. It is chock full of practical and enlightening bits of Lou's wisdom based on his successful retained executive search career which now spans 30 years. As others have said, this is the highest value a recruiter could get for $20 and, in fact, it's good to re-read as a reference book.

Hire with you Head - a Must Read for results-oriented Recruiters

Lou Adler knows his stuff! Lou is a veteran recruiter and a leader in educating Recruiters and Headhunters. I have always enjoyed his work and style of training. Lou really believes in correctly following the entire recruiting process from start to finish and not missing any steps. Hire with your Head is about a systematic approach to recruiting. Lou writes about actively recruiting passive candidates, being prepared (doing your homework up front) to "how to" get better results from your job postings, to maintaining control of the candidate process. But in this book there is much, much more.
Whether you are a third-party headhunter or an in-house recruiter, you will learn many things from this seasoned recruiting guru. I know I have.
