Abousolutely wonderful!!!

This is the story of Clotee, a 12 year old slave on a plantation. It tells of the braveness of this young girl and the underground railroad. She becomes the conducter when a conducter disguised as a "teacher". The story shows you the cruleness and faithfulness of that time. I recommend this book for children who are interested in those times.

One of the best in the Series!!!!!

This book I liked because you can feel how it is to be a slave. She's a very very strong girl and learned alot. She was very smart and she had alot of courage I won't tell you why you'll have to read yourself but this is just one of the greatest book's!

This book evokes the desire for freedom.

This book is about a slave who can read and write. She must keep it a secret or else she could get in deep trouble. When she writes words she can picture them in her mind. When she writes the word FREEDOM she sees nothing. The little slave is determined to see what it is like to be free; but does she have to die to find freedom?

This is My Favorite Book!

This book was the best book I ever read! It was very real! I couldn't stop reading it! I was up till early in the mornimg finishing it! I cried twice, although they were only happy tears! I loved seeing what happened to Rose (Spicey) at the end! I got so into the characters that I didn't want the book to end! I never knew it was like that being a slave in those days! I would recommend this book to anyone! I hope everyone wanting to read a good book will read this one!
