Love Country, Always--Love Government.......well,

Paul Rieckhoff is a patriot and a brave man. He's done something very unpopular. He's woken up a woozy country who wanted to believe in the premise for waging Iraqi Freedom. He has every right to step up to the plate and take a few swings at the administration for not listening to top brass, and for going down the Yellow Brick Road in search of Yellow Cake. Read the details of this man as he tries to keep his boys alive, and win the hearts and minds of the Iraqis. Read and wonder if you would make any different choices in a land where your "friends" and "enemies" are like identical twins-you just don't know who you're talking to at any given moment.

A must read

Paul Rieckhoff's Chasing Ghosts is a straight forward non-fictional account of his tour in Iraq. His thoughts, his men, his experiences. It's at times poignantly funny, yet heart stoppingly sobering. When he talks about the children of Iraq, his desire to do what he was sent there to do is palpable. Well written, affecting and inspiring.

It doesn't matter your political background. You owe it to yourself to spend some time with Paul and his platoon to learn about what our soldiers are really going through over there, and how the bad decisions made before and during the war cost American lives. Not to mention that the fast-paced book reads like an awesome thriller.

A SOLDIERS FIGHT FOR AMERICAN FROM BAGHAD TO WASHINGTON

This is a book I would recommend to anyone who likes war books and FPS (First Person View) storytelling. One reason why I would recommend this to this type of reader who likes war books is because I wouldn't think that people who oppose wars would take the blood, stuff and a little bad language. Furthermore, I would recommend this book because it is a personal profile of one of the many soldiers in Baghdad in Iraq. It shows him as a lieutenant who is in command of a bunch of platoon. A second reason why I would recommend this book is because it shows a good example why many people shouldn't choose to become soldiers. It has awesome details of what the war in Iraq is basically about because it is the real story of how the lies, idiocies, frustrations, obscenities and tragedies of the war impact those who fight it. Finally, the third reason why I would recommend this to anyone who likes war is because it is full of courage, GI talk, humor and pure patriotism... a must read for those of us struggling to understand the number one issue of our time.

We are very lucky to be able to witness the horror and the electricity of war as described by Lt Rieckhoff. His images and experiences create a real page-turner that advances at lightning speed. The justification for the Iraq War will soon be judged by historians, but who better to convey the day to day world of the Iraq War ? A very well-written, honest, soldier's journal. Don't skip this one. Its awesome... makes a great gift for Father's Day!
