A Very Cool Book!

This and Vol 2. are the best collection of class="textlinks">Java References that I have ever used. I couldn't imagine programming in Java without them.
The examples are short and to the point. I also like the alphabetical listing of all the packaged classes rather than by package.

This book truely offers the "All you can eat".

This giant class="textlinks">Java reference has all what you struggled to know in Java. Mainly, I found a lot of interesting examples to many classes and class methods. Ever wondered how to implement Timezones? Or how the TimeZone and SimpleTimeZone work in Java? This book not only explains what the JDK documentation left, but also gives you working examples.

What I liked about the book is that it has a dictionary-like interface. Classes are listed alphabetically. All you have to do is look up the name of the class that's driving you nuts. Read about it. And look at the consice examples provided.

Perfect!

This is the best reference book I have ever owned. It is exactly what I wanted in an AWT reference.

The class="textlinks">text is informative, the code examples are illustrative and not excessively verbose, the book is well indexed and easy to flip through to find answers, and in my experience so far it has been completely accurate.

I've spent about 200 hours this spring hacking AWT code with this book at my side, and it has been an invaluable aid. I highly recommend it.

The Premier Java API Reference Book Series

This and Volume are the premier class="textlinks">Java 1.1 reference books. Every bundled Java class library is covered in an easy to read format. It is trivial to find the information you are looking for in this book. The book part is that the book has an unbelievable number of example programs. It's great; you just look up what you need and get syntax, explaination and example code all in one spot.

They are my favorite Java reference books and highly recommend them to any serious Java programmer. Out of all my Java books, these are the ones that I find the most useful.
