It's a sleeper... Iles continues his incredible writing

I got this book for Christmas because my family knows I am a huge fan of Greg Iles. I have read the majority of his books and have loved them all, and "Third Degree" is no different. I am surprised at how poor the review have been on this website. I just do not understand what is not to like about this one.

I hate when people spoil the book by giving a summary in a review so I will not say much about the plot. With that said, this book will capture you in a heartbeat. It is an iteresting concept because it takes place all in one day, which few other books can make work. If you are an Iles fan you will love this one.

On The Fence

I'm really on the fence with this book. I think if it would have been almost any other author then I would have gave it 4 stars but because it's Greg Iles and I expect so much more...I was kinda let down. It was very good in the beginning but then in the middle it got very tedious. Mr. Iles rambled quite a bit and it didn't seem like the plotline was going anywhere. The last 75 pages or so were pretty good until last 15 pages. The ending was extremely unrealistic and things weren't explained very well. It was a let down because Greg Iles is usually just so good. I'm afraid this is a definite bargain book buy or a library check out book.

This is an excellent book, well written and close to home in many ways. I have added Iles to my favorite author list and will read any of his books I can.
