beautiful

I have read this book many times. Every single time, I cry for Julie because I know how much it hurts to loose your best friend. The first time that I read this book, it was three months after my best friend succumed to cancer, and I was lost in the memories of them. This book describes both Julie's pain and the hospital much as I remember feeling and the places that I waited for my friend. Even if I did not know the pain of loosing a friend at such a young age, I would have still cried with Julie. I still would have cried tears of pain with her at the death of her best friend and tears of joy when she discovered his posthumous gift. Definatly read this book, just make sure that you have tissues handy. Luke and Julie's story is one that must be told.

WOW

This was one of the best books I have ever read. The captivating story of love and enduring tragedy is amazing. Luke Muldenbower is the star quarter back of his high school football team and Julie Ellis is the love of his life. They have every intention of getting married after high school, but all of that changes when Luke is diagnosed with cancer. He and Julie must look at their lives and decide if their love is strong enough to endure the illness. It is such a page-turner, you woun't be able to put it down until the very end.

FANTASTIC!!!

I must admit... This is my favorite Lurlene McDaniel novel... And I 've read 'em all!

This story is captivating and understandable for anyone who is experienceing first love. Luke and Julie represent the relationship that every teenager wishes he or she could have.

The twist of Luke's cancer in the story is a powerful example of why we must live for the day and learn to deal with whatever life tooses our way! FABULOUS book!!!

Don't Die, My Love

Don't Die, My Love is an incredible book! Lurlene McDaniel is such a talented writer and brings the books she writes alive. Julie and Luke are the ideal couple: Luke with football scholarships to the best colleges and Julie a straight A student. They plan to get married after high school but then Luke is diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, a type of cancer. At the end, during surgery on a tumor in his chest he dies. Although I almost never cry while reading a book (and I didn't during this book) I felt myself clench up and think about how lucky I am to be alive. Read Don't Die, My Love as well as every other book by Lurlene McDaniel, you'll love them!

An amazing book!

Everlasting love. That was what Julie Ellis and Luke Muldenhower had. Dating for about three years does that to you. There was no one else in the world for either one of them. Nothing in the world could do anything to their love, nothing would ever come between them, they'd be together forever, or so they thought.
Don't Die, My Love by Lurlene McDaniel is an incredible novel that teaches you about life. It is a heartwarming tale about love surviving all things and always being there for each other. McDaniel lures her readers into the novel because you feel like you are able to connect with the characters.
Julie and Luke have been dating since 8th grade. They are in love and everything seems perfect going into their senior year. The two had plans of going to college together, Luke with a scholarship for basketball and Julie with her grades. However, life isn't always that easy. When Luke finds out he has a rare form of cancer things take a turn for the worst. Julie is always there for him but he suddenly starts pushing her away even though she just wants to help him get better.
If this book taught me just one lesson, it's that life isn't fair. Luke goes to all through treatments and still the cancer keeps returning. I found myself in tears because it wasn't fair to either of them. I got mad at the doctors for not being able to cure Luke and I got mad at Luke for hiding the fact that he was sick for so long. They were so in love and this just seemed wrong for them to have to go through that much.
McDaniel has a way of bringing her characters to life, a way of making them seem real. The scary thing about this book is that it actually could happen. This book was so intense that I couldn't put it down, literally. I had to know what happened to Luke, how everything turned out.
The book's bittersweet ending left me sobbing for a good ten minutes. When a book is able to touch you in that way, you know it's great. It also left me with determination to live life to the fullest because you never know how much time you have left. I recommend you read Don't Die, My Love by Lurlene McDaniel because if you don't, you're missing out on a wonderful adventure and novel.
