Awesome Book
Ok this book is a MUST for all ferret owners I mean this book has everything that any book out there has in it.
This book is full of information.
This book says it all!!
Thank GOD for
Ferrets
for
Dummies
! Ms. Schilling has owned pet ferrets for many years and it shows! But what's even more helpful is that she writes about ferrets from the perspective of an adoring owner as well as a foster mom to ferrets awaiting new homes. She doesn't hold back and lets the reader know that ferrets aren't for everyone. Because of that, both the ferrets and the readers win! There's nothing sadder than a ferret in an uninformed home! On the flip side, if after reading Ferrets for Dummies you believe a ferret or two or three is for you, you will be well prepared! Bravo to the author for discussing those issues which many ferret fanatics (myself included) try to brush under the table.....such as odor, litter box woes and problem ferrets! Ms. Schilling was not only able to tackle the difficult issues with style and grace, but also with a great sense of humor - essential to any ferret owner! I can't say enough about this book! It's the best! I know many people who decided that ferrets were DEFINITELY for their household after reading Ferrets for Dummies! And there were a few that decided ferrets might not be the best pets for them! Wonderful! Matching the right pet with the right family is what it's all about! I hope Ms. Schilling keeps on writing!! She has a fan in me!

Being a first time fuzzy owner has become a real treat with the help of this wonderful, easy to understand guide. Written in clear, plain ole fashion english and is a joy to read. Extremely helpful...my fuzzy and I could not go on without it!!!

Excellent Reference...but....
This is an excellent reference book for ferret owners...but a bit too cutesy for my tastes...especially the terms she uses instead of the word "ferret". My only other concern about the book is, in my opinion, it makes
ferrets
seem much more messier than they are. I have 5 uncaged ones that have the run of a room, so I know they aren't the neatest creatures in the world...but they don't need the litter box every 15 minutes. Someone without a ferret might very well not get one after reading this book about all the MESS...I wouldn't! The author has at least 20 ferrets--that's a ferret rescue place, not a typical ferret home.

Ferrets Forever
Ferrets
for
Dummies
by Kim Schilling is a very informative book. In my opinion, anyone who has a ferret, is thinking of getting a ferret, or just thinks ferrets are adorable should read this book. It starts at the basics such as what a ferret is, goes through the proper care and grooming of a ferret, and even tells you how to train your little mischief-loving fuzzball. In addition to the above, this book has a listing of shelters, clubs, and other ferret organizations. Overall, this is an excellent guide to living with your four-legged, mischeif-making bundles of energy and joy.
