Good Book

I really thought this book helped. I started using it about 3 weeks ago with my 4 month old and already am seeing improved sleep... even naps. Now anyone can get him to go to sleep. Before it had to be me and even I was unsuccessful sometimes. He's gone from sleeping about 12 hours a day to 14 and is having a lot fewer "I'm too tired meltdowns". There are some nice easy to understand tables on sleep schedules for different aged babies.

Sleep is great!

I had forgotten what a decent night's sleep was! Like other reviewers, I have tried many books and sleep programs, with not much success. My 4 1/2 month old son would go to sleep just fine, it was keeping him that way that was the problem. He would wake any where from 3-8 times a night and naps were a joke! I knew he wasn't hungry because when I would nurse him, he would fall back asleep immediately. He was mostly waking for his pacifier. I bought both the Sleepeasy book and dvd, hoping for a miracle. I am not a big fan of letting my son cry all night, but I knew he had to learn to soothe himself to sleep.

The program really worked. The longest he has cried at one time was about 20 minutes. We got rid of the pacifier and he is doing great. Even the naps are coming along. He now naps about 3-3 1/2 hours daily as opposed to 1 1/2 hours. He still wakes several times a night, but cries and whimpers for less then five minutes before falling back asleep. This is only our sixth day on the program, so I am hoping the, albeit short night wakings, will continue to lessen. It was no miracle, but it is easy to read, easy to follow and, thank goodness, really worked for us!

Wow, a miracle

This book helped us so much that I feel compelled to write my first review. The most impressive thing to me is that when I emailed the author (at [...]) with a question about a recommendation in the book, she emailed me a complete and personal response within 24 hours! My husband is so thrilled that he said we should send the authors an extra $10!

For months I had asked our doctor, researched on the internet and read several other books to help my 8 1/2 month old son give up night feedings AND sleep through the night. I very strongly didn't want my child to cry for hours or go hungry. However, I also didn't want him to form long term habits that would be hard to break later, as I had already observed his sleep habits getting worse as he learned to sit, crawl, stand and etc in the crib. Although I very much wanted the "No Cry Sleep Solution" to work for me, the techniques in that book just made my child significantly worse every night. Rest assured, that even with this book, I NEVER had to let my child cry much. On the only bad night we had, he cried for about 20 minutes off and on.

This book is well organized and well written. You can read the essential sections to get started very quickly. I was very wary about waking a sleeping baby one hour before his "usual" wake up time in order to wean night feedings. But, I made a commitment to try their approach, so I did it exactly as prescribed in the book. Wow, within three nights he gave up BOTH night feedings without going hungry or crying or waking for a pacifier. Within the next two nights he started sleeping for around 11 hours. We only had one night that was somewhat difficult, which I attribute somewhat to the daylight savings time change on the first night of no night feedings.

FINALLY a full night's sleep!!

This book gave me the courage to help teach my daughter how to sleep through the night. I was skeptical because I've tried other techniques in the past and gave up because I didn't think they were working. The Sleepeasy Solution taught me to have patience...and patience paid off! My daughter went from waking anywhere from 3-6 times a night to sleeping through the night in 3 nights! The first night, she cried for 20 mins, the second night it was ten and the third night only 3 minutes! I weaned her from night-feeding in 2 nights and now she doesn't eat at night at all! Now, after our nightly bedtime routine she fusses for about 1-2 minutes but then falls asleep on her own. It's a gentle cry-it-out technique that worked for our family...it will probably work for yours too!

I can't believe that just a couple of weeks ago, I was a zombie mom who could barely hold up her coffee cup in the morning. I regret not doing this much much sooner. I guess part of me thought my daughter would just grow out of the night wakings/feeding but after reading this book I know that it probably would have continued for many many months or even years if I did not put a stop to it!!

Great Book!

I swore I would never let my child cry herself to sleep but I finally gave in. Our 5 month old baby was waking 6 times a night, couldn't nap, and was chronically sleep deprived. I bought this book and the Richard Ferber book. While this book has much of the same information and concepts as Ferber's book this book is easier to read and is organized very well. It also has sample sleep/nap schedules which helped us tremendously. This book was a lifesaver for our baby and us!
