Excellent Flash

I am new to flash photography, and have used the SB-600 for a couple of weeks now. I am extremely happy with the results, particularly when the flash is bounced off the ceiling. I have a diffuser to go with the flash, and that helps spread the light more evenly. Must have if you shoot indoors.

Great product

An amazing product, there are so many things you can do with it. The recycle time again is amazing. I had an interst inphotography many years ago, some what of a semi pro, but life got in the way. I reacently rediscovered my passion for photography and could believe the usefullness of items like thos flash. If you have used the older type of flash no TTL you will truley be amazed. Get the Nikon Creative Lighting system book to really get full use of this SB-600

It was not built as strong+good as the previous model (old SB for Film-SLR). Other than that it works perfectly.

If you own a Nikon SLR, you should own the SB600

If you are happy with your camera's built in-flash, you will be amazed at the quality improvement of your flash photos with the SB600.

If you are unhappy with your camera's built-in flash, the SB600 will meet or exceed your expectations.

Unless you are doing sync multi-flash studio work, you don't need to spend the extra money for the SB800; the SB600 is all you need.

If a small profile is critical, perhaps the SB400 will satisfy your needs, but given the size of the D200 and D300 bodies, this flash is well balanced with plenty of power and features.
