Great for legs and more!

Let me just say first, that if this didn't hurt at all, nobody would be using razors to achieve a smooth leg. Yes, the first time I used it, it did hurt some, but it was nothing I couldn't bear at all. I have never waxed my legs before either, and find waxing very painful, so that gives you an idea of my tolerance. However, the second time I used it, it was much less painful, literally more than 50% less painful than the first time. I will say one thing, use this at least a DAY BEFORE you want to have smooth legs, because it left me with little pink dots all over my legs. Those were also not as bad second time around. Anyway, down to the other aspects:

The device overall - The design is great and fits in my hand very comfortably. I wish it could be charged so I could use it as a cordless device, but I don't mind plugging it in and sitting on the floor for a little bit. I also really like the light on it, which from the pictures looked useless, but really help you see all the hairs. I also like the little bag you can store everything in, it makes it easy to cary around.

The Attachments - I definitely recommend the epilator head with the massaging things for the first time around. It helps distract from the pain a little bit, and also helps pick up little hairs wanting to stay on your leg. The second Epilator Head without the rolling massage things worked great the second time around and was good for getting it done faster. The Shaver works well too, it made my legs pretty smooth and I used it on my under arms as well. I haven't used the trimmer attachment so I can't vouch for that.

The effects of this device were overall great. Yes, it did miss some hairs the first time I did it, but it didn't matter because some hairs grow in at different times, so I did have to epilate like a week after my first go. But even if there are a couple little strays hanging around, they are the finer hairs and your legs still appear very smooth. I will definitely keep on using this product knowing now how much the pain reduces the more you use it. It does hurt significantly more behind the knee, and other sensitive areas, but that will get better over time. If you are looking for a good option other than shaving to keep your legs looking great and getting rid of other unwanted hair, I definitely recommend this. It does not seem like a crappy little electronic that is going to die out anytime soon, and I'm excited to keep using it and see the results! Very Happy with this purchase!

Good product, worth a try!

I purchased this product after seeing so many highly rated reviews and the price wasn't too bad of an investment either. The product does what is says and I like it very much so far. And while there is some pain when your hair is being yanked out, it goes away in a second and you are left with smooth skin. And while Ive only used it twice, Ive noticed you kinda just get use to it and the "pain" becomes expected and its more of a very small discomfort / prickle and really isn't an issue anymore. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because its not cordless and there the little hairs that get yanked out kinda fly everywhere or build up in the little gadget. So after each use, you have to take the head attachment off and clean it out with the included mini brush thingy. Just good upkeep practices to keep the lil guy running, takes like 2 minutes. It's a good investment if you are too lazy to shave/cut yourself every other day and its quick too, prob less than 10 minutes for both legs if you do a pass every 4-5 days or so. Im im pretty sure ill work into a nice routine after a few more weeks =o)

Not as great as waxing

So I got this braun 5270 silk-épil X'elle Body System Epilator and it was alright at best. It does its job. And pretty fast too, I can do both full arms and underarms in about 20 mins.

What I don't like about this product is that my hair growth is thicker than normal. I've been waxing for over 8 years and my hair had become very fine, especially on my arms. I could go 3-4 weeks without waxing and my arms looking bad. After I started using this epilator, my hair grows back much thicker and is more noticeable during regrowth. Same with my underarms and legs. Another thing I didn't like, is that I seem to be getting a lot of ingrown hairs now. Which isn't a great thing.

Overall its fast, easy to use, not very painful, and easy to clean.

Negatives: you need to keep it corded or it wont work. Which sucks if you're not near a power source.

Ouch, this does hurt!

After reading dozens of reviews on this product, I decided to try it out. After an hour, I got as far as my knees, and couldn't go any further because it really hurt, and the process took so long to try and get all the hairs. The worst part wasn't the hair being ripped out... the worst part was the month of insane itching after using it on my legs -to the point of scarring (and yes, I did moisturize everynight). I was going to return the product, but decided to give it another shot. So, the second use, still itchy, but by the third use, which was done this week... my legs are for the most part itch-free. Also, I still have to shave on top of using this product as the little hairs aren't picked up, and I want to be smooth. So, it may be cheaper to just stick to a razor.
