Excellent Monitor - wimpy stand

This is the best LCD screen I have seen. I can't say enough about the clarity and excellent contrast. As good as the monitor is - the stand they use is just awful. You always feel like the monitor is about to fall over and you cannot adjust it up or down. The one adjustment you do get - tilting it back - requires a lot of dexerity and strength. If you can't lift an 80 lb salt bag to your shoulder - you will not be able to tilt this monitor...

Very big and bright

My last computer was a laptop with a 15.4" screen and now, upgrading to this screen (which is more than 2x bigger), is just like being in heaven.

With that being said, Amazon kind of lied about the 3000:1 contrast ratio. It's actually 700:1 if you look at the Samsung website and it only has 3000:1 contrast ratio under certain conditions.

Otherwise, it's what you'd want out of a screen: it's fast, bright, and big.

This is a good LCD monitor for the price that you pay for it. It would be better if a pair of internal speaker be added in this unit.

Great monitor, very happy

I was worried at first about noticing ghosting etc, this being my first switch from CRT to LCD. But I have been nothing but happy with my new monitor. The only downside I have noticed is the previously mentioned blinking power light when the monitor is in sleep mode. I didn't think it would bother me, but if the lights are turned down it is really bright and annoying.

not as good as samsung 19"

not as good as my old samsung 19" which had a black spot on it after almost three years use. the new one is good enough but little bit under performance on contrast and color. i have used same monitor calibration program to calibrate.
