love it!

i like this Q and A book, has a lot of good information and explanation that you can use for the exam.

Great review of First Aid= great review for step 1

Almost every medical student uses First Aid for Step one because the bottom line is that it works. This book is by the same authors and pretty much reviews the same topics. If you know First Aid and you can breathe than you will pass Step one and what better way to ensure that you know the material in first aid than to test yourself. I would use first aid to guide my studying and supplement it with other review books then test myself by doing the questions for the corresponding sections in the Q&A. It worked great because the chapters correlate directly between the two books which made rpaid studying a cinch. Some people will tell you that these questions are easier than on the real test and they are correct but you need to know the basic facts reviewed in this book before you step up to the real thing on test day. The answers to the questions are awesome, they don't taker the easy way out by only telling you why the correct answer is correct they also take the time to explain why incorrect answers are incorrect which is really helpful because you cover more material this way. I would suggest this book to any 2nd year medical student getting ready for step 1 because this book really helps you prepare for the test and there is one full test included which you can used prior to test day to guage how ready you are.

contains quality questions

while there is no substitute for usmleworld, i used this book earlier in my med school career. i thought they were more challenging than the kaplan book.

Its ok but if you buy the First Aid Rx question bank then you get the same questions

The bottom line with this book is that it contains one block of 50 questions per organ system. So if you are doing an organ systme approach to studying for the Board then this could be helpful. However, if you are studying in a subject based format, this would be a completely waste of your money. Furthemore the questions in this book are selected from the First Aid Rx question bank, which means why buy the book if the 1 month subscription for the question bank is worth the same. besides the question bank has much better explanations than the book- as they correlate with the current version of the First Aid Step i book.
