This speaker system deserves more than five stars

If you like crisp clear sound when play a music cd or dvd, the are it you will feel like you are right at the theatre when u watch a movie. you get few different sound options, dolby digital,proglogic,stereo,stereox2 and quad if you want the best sound whie watching a moive from these speakers put it in the doblby digital mode.

Outstanding -- no problems with Creative Live

The software that comes with these speakers is useful, but when used with Creative Labs SoundBlaster Live, these speakers are nothing short of spectacular. The sound environments produced by the Blaster are better than I've heard on any stereo, and the Blaster really takes advantage of the 3-speaker setup. While limited by their size, the aural quality they produce left me stunned. Contrary to what another reviewer said, I had no problem at all using either the provided software or the SB software to control the speakers. The USB is a nice feature and does not get in the way at all. I'm an old stereo buff, and I recommend these speakers highly. It's quite a system for the money.

Best coumputer speakers I've ever herd

These speakers are great. There evean beter with 3-D sound. There also great for listinging to all kinds of music. I only whish it did'nt have an electrontc volume control. The electronic control is easy to use, but I would find a seprate analog control for the subwoffer, 3-D sound, and center channel sound easer to use than the single electrontc multi function control, which can control each sound sepertaly, but is a little inconvienent. Appart from that these speakers give great sound.

Awesome, Sort of.

I love these speakers, they sound great with realistic and powerful bass and great clearity. Although, for anyone with a sound card capable of 3D sound these are not the speakers for you. Although they sound great I was dissappointed with the lack of 3D sound.

Excellent speakers

I have also been amazed by the speakers. The bass from the subwoofer is also incredible, but I have had to turn it way down because you can feel it throughout the entire house. The sound is crisp and clear, and amplified very well.

.... The USB connection makes it possible to control the speakers with a very cool software package on the computer.

The subwoofer has two stero minijack inputs and a USB input. The subwoofer then outputs to the satellite speakers. If you try to connect just the USB, you get NO sound. Maybe there is some way to direct the sound in your computer through the USB port, but I don't see how. Whether or not you control the speakers with the software or with the physical controls on the speakers, you still have to plug the sound card into the speakers.

I don't think this is a negative and the sound is still great. But don't buy these speakers if you think you will connect them only through USB or if you do not have a sound card.
