You get what you pay for
I'm going to start of by saying that the
system
is very good for the money that you get it for. I got mine for $199 at Circuit City on sale. I was looking for clean bass which I did not really achieve for a while. The internal amplifier clearly is overated and does not deliver 160W RMS to the subs. Do a price search, look for an amplifier alone unit with that power. That alone will cost you more than the whole
gt88
system. The subwoofer and the speaker quality are actually quite decent, better than Sony gx45. The biggest drawback of the system is the actual speaker box. Once the volume is up, the whole thing rattes soo much. Most of the noise comes from the 'jet engines' on top the box. I fixed the problem by dynamating the top of the jet and the whole rear of the speaker box. Furthemore get a sturdy piece of cloth or a pair of socks and stick it in the round opening on top! The rattling coming from the inside is gone and you have yourself a sealed enclosure that pumps out more lows and sounds a lot cleaner. The only drawback is the sub is quiter at lower volumes. Overall I'm pleased with the system. However, it could be improved with a better amplifier and a sealed speaker enclosure which would not rattle nearly as much. For the price that you pay for the system, it's a steal.

You Can't Touch This Product
This is the best mini
system
I've heard. No other name brand can come close to this. If you're a bass fanatic like I am, you'd look forward to playing your music all night long. The bass will have your floor trembling and I must say JVC has my vote on this product. Also, the speakers are cute.

The JVC MX-GT88 has very serious bass power!
What more can you ask for in a
compact
shelf
system
. I bought this one and I was thrilled with its mind-blowing power of 460 watts of pure audio. This system will rock your crib! For bass enthusiasts this is the system to look for at any electronics store. The system has two powerful amplifiers built in the chassis. One for the 8-inch subwoofers driving out 160 watts per channel into 6 ohms and 70 watts per channel into 4 ohms for the midranges and tweeters, totaling 460 watts! I have a Sony PHC-Z10 100 watt shelf system. It sounds a little louder for the mids and highs, but my JVC GigaTube system has much more thump to it. I also like the sound mode it has. It has Rock, Pop, Classic, Dance Club, Hall, and Stadium. I also like the Sound Turbo function it has so you can play your music to the max. It also has an independent subwoofer volume level control system so you minimize distortion of your bass and to avoid damaging your subs on accident if your are playing a song that has more bass in it's signal. It goes from level one through three. This system will also sound great for any compatible auxiliary component such as a video game system, DVD player, VCR, etc. All you need is red and white RCA audio jacks to connect your component to the auxiliary input. In my opinion, this system sounds very excellent for only $250.00. Be sure to test a display model of the MX-
GT88
at the store before you purchase it.

A very good product made by JVC
I have recently bought this MX-
GT88
Model stereo. I am very pleased with it. The performance is outstanding and I would recommend this product to anyone to buy it. The sound quality is there and is outstanding. The GIGA-TUBE Low-Pass Advanced Labyrinth TUBE Subwoofer technology will blow you away. This 460W stereo flexes its muscles very well when in operation. This is a higher-ups for all mini-
system
s. I am very proud of this stereo. I have made a very good purchace for my money and it was worth it. And trust me your money will be worth buying this model. JVC rocks all the way!!
