Comprehensive Herbal
This book is a comprehensive
herb
al and tutorial on
root
magic
/
hoodoo
style practices. Well written, informative, and interesting
Useful information!
There are some things contained in this book which are quite useful to practioners who are familiar and unfamiliar with
root
s and
herb
s, their original uses, and the different names specifically given to them on different continents. It amazes me how much I have unwittingly settled for substitutions I've purchased in occult shops! THANK YOU!
That's it she's a God!
I will not waste the reader's time praising the glories of the book-others have already done that. However, I will give the reader some clue as to what you'll find in this book.
The author gives the scientific names, common names, and
magic
al uses. The author clears up some of the common mistakes that are made concerning
herb
s. For example, Balm of Gilead Buds are often given in place of Adam & Eve
Root
according to the author either by mistake or to deceive the buyer. The author provides plenty of information so you won't/can't be mislead. This is only a small example of the useful information the author gives.
The author also gives lots of spells 'tricks' listed under each herb for practical use. The book also covers information on loadstone's, ammonia,etc... This is truly a rich source of information on traditional
Hoodoo
.

Very good resource guide
I find this to be not only a great starter guide but also a good resource to go back to time and time again. Highly recommended.
Supplemental Source Book
Cat's book should be taken as a supplement to her website and course teachings. If you are new to
Hoodoo
, you won't learn the basics from this book. Take a look at her website and take her Hoodoo course, which offers a good basic grasp of
Root
work. She's extremely generous, gifted, helpful, and not a scammer, you will be in touch with her students as well, learn from them too, and will see how powerful rootwork will be as an addition (or stand alone path)to your
magic
kal work.
