The Terk AM-1000 passive AM Indoor Antenna works Fair for local stations but at $39.00 is a little pricey.Probably should be priced at $20.00 TO $25.00 range.

Terrific Antenna

I bought this antenna from an ebayer in California because Amazon cannot sell to Europe where the Terk Advantage is not available. I agree with all the other positive comments about it.
It works best during daylight hours, pulling in weak AM stations from transmitters in the UK, up to 500 miles from my home on the West coast of Ireland.
It does a great job clearing up the noise on the stronger signals. For anyone who enjoys Dxing or listening to AM radio, I would highly recommend the Terk AM Advantage.

Good Distance Antenna for AM and HD

I selected this antenna based on the Amazon reviews, and I am quite satisfied with it. The antenna is well made and works well to bring in stations which were marginal. Distance reception is at best, variable, of course.

Works as advertised

My wife is a big fan of FM talk radio and because of this I purchased her a Cambridge Soundworks radio. This radio has great sound quality that rivials a component system. There are times when her favorite show is not available due to a ball game. Well, I found an AM station that played the same show at the same time frame but the reception was very bad and her show barely audible. After some research I thought I'd try this Terk AM-1000 and it works perfectly and now the AM reception is hardly indistinguishable from the FM station she was listening to. Of course, there are some drawbacks to listening to AM, such as interference when certain appliances are used, but this has nothing to do with the quality of the antenna. I use the AM antenna jack that is provided on the radio. The radio came with a small loop antenna which made me think initially I would be wasting money, however there is no comparsion between the two. Once you tune the antenna to the station you listen to the difference is obvious. Bottom line, it works fine.

great fathers day gift

I bought this for my father on Fathers Day, he listens to AM stations from his clock radio in the mornings and late at night. He loves it and was very impressed that the antenna just had to be near the radio and not connected to it. I finally got him a gift he can use and likes.
