Great device. Would like improvements to make it perfect:
Very nice device. Great for windy beaches.
When reclining on lounger it is hard to hold and turn pages.
Would really like to be able to turn pages with two identical scroll wheels on opposite sides of device and get rid of large buttons.
nice site for classic books: feedbooks.com
I love my Kindle!!
I have been using my Kindle now for almost one month and I love it! It is so much easier for me to hold a Kindle than a paper book and I can set the font to ease my eyes when they get tired. I recently was traveling and was able to take the Kindle in place of several heavy paper books. Thank you!!!
A great device, amazingly fast at downloading content. Haven't found a single book that I searched for that wasn't available. Main concern I had was the fact that it wasn't backlit but I read a review that pointed neither were books so decided that maybe I was asking for something that wasn't that important and that turned out to be the case. It has a very crisp look to the type and is very easy to read even at night with just a small lamp shining on it. Worst thing about it and the hardest thing to get use to is the placement of the page buttons. I quickly learned to pick it up and get settled BEFORE I turned it on, otherwise, I would either go forward or backward several pages trying to comfortable with it. Luckily, since the screen turns black as it pages, you get both a warning and a means of counting the number of pages you need to adjust for. Other than that, it is a great product and I've enjoyed having it around.
i have had my kindle for three weeks now and i love it . it fits comfortably in my hands, is light to carry and i can have endless (almost) books at my beck and call at any time. i am an avid reader averageing 3-5 books daily, depending on how busy i am at work, and it is so much easier to carry one device rather than a stack of books. since i am one of those readers that reads in line at the bank, or at a long redlight, etc (i know annoying of me, but at least i don't read in the shower anymore)i always have my fix handy now. thanks amazon for a wonderful toy/drug for an addicted reader. as the quote goes when i have a little money i spend it on books, the rest i spend on food and clothes.........to be redundant, i love it. my only complaint is that i did not get one earlier. carolyn
I wasn't sure how I would like not having a book in my hand, and now I can't imagine turning actual pages! I will still buy some books from my favorite authors(I am a collector after all) but I will have the majority of my collection on file. Love it!!!!!
