Quality Product @ an Inexpensive Price
This easy-to-use product exceeds expectations. I live in the metro DC area and had no problem finding 3 unused frequencies that seem to provide "near CD" quality. No static, no interference, no interruptions ...FWIW I am using the
transmitter
with an old Zen Touch 20G. Per
Kensington
's instructions, player volume is set @ around 75%.
I found the following startup sequence useful:
1) connect transmitter to power outlet then connect transmitter to player
2) turn on player
3) turn on radio -- ensure that transmitter and radio frequencies are
the same
4) if necessary and/or desired adjust radio volume
I haven't had an opportunity to travel a long distance yet so I cannot provide any feedback on that. To date, no problems experienced on "local" high speed roads (I-95, 495, 66).

Great product, in my F-150 in Houston
It seems that the sound quality is dependent on the type of vehicle and antenna placement. In my F-150 - with a traditional vertical antenna on the hood - the sound quality is wonderful. I couldn't tell you if it's CD quality, but it's much better than the average FM station here in the Houston area.
A very good product.
I have been using the
Kensington
Universal
FM
Transmitter
to listen to audio books from my
MP3
Player over the car radio. It works very well with crystal-clear sound the great majority of the time. There is occasionally some very faint static but it lasts for only a brief time and I have no trouble hearing the audio over it. I have been very pleased with the quality of this product.

Kensington Universal Transmitter
Works fine almost everywhere I go. The other reviews I read said you don't have to change the station at all, but I do have to change depending on where I am. I also found that the stations that work best are the ones father away-- that took a while to figure out.
All in all I am very happy with the purchase.
Kensington FM Transmitter
I purchased this item from Amazon and am using it with a Sony NWZZ818BLK
MP3
player to work with a factory AM/FM stereo in my new F-250.
I am experiencing distortion and hiss at the high end with my MP3 volume set at approximately 70% as directed by the instructions. Once I reduce my MP3 volume to around 30%, the audio sounds fine, but I then have to crank the vehicle radio to its limit. I have another vehicle that I connect my MP3 to via a cassette adapter, and it sounds just fine. So I believe the distortion is a result of the FM
transmitter
. I will hold onto this transmitter though because it will cost too much to have an aftermarket stereo installed.
