Nice surprise

I ordered the 650 and they automatically upgraded me to the 660 with Bluetooth at the same price. What's more, the product is brand new, not reconditioned as I expected it would be. I'm Happy!

Works for Geo Cache as well

I had originally purchased a Tom Tom 920 Go. The reason I switched to the Nuvi 600 series is that it has the pop up antanae, which is just so much more sensative. There are only a few things I like more about the Garmin.

The windshield Mount having the plug-in instead of the unit.
The display is more cartoonish, but somehow shows more detail about what is around you
The pop-up antanane is sensative enough to work for geo caching.

The Tom Tom has about a million more features, it seems as though it is built better. It is very customizable. European maps included. You can get more info on the main screen. It has voice recognition, its plain old easier to use, and the list goes on. However, the built in antanae on the Tom Tom isn't very good. Ours was usually off by at least 50 feet, which was sometimes difficult if you were trying to figure out which turn or exit to take when there were a few really close together (we eventually got used to this, and only had minimal problems with it) Also, if you are not moving relatively quickly (at least a fast jog) the display never updates on the Tom Tom. With the Nuvi 650, I have gone geo caching with people who have the hand held hiking garmins, and the 650 out performs them everytime. It puts me within a couple of feet of the cache. So in my opinion, it depends what you value more. THey are both good units. Both have some flaws in their navigation software for the quickest routes to places, but both will get you there.

GPS and traveling alone in this economy

We had a wedding in Virginia. My husband and I had to fly separately on our families free miles because we couldn't afford two tickets. Ron flew to Philadelphia to visit his family before the wedding. I flew to Virginia to be with my family. That meant Ron had to drive from Philadelphia to Fredricksburg, VA by himself. He has driven like that, by himself before, but never with time restraints. The rehearsal dinner was Friday evening and he had to be there to take the pictures. We specifically bought the Garmin to navigate for him through Baltimore and Washington, DC. I am usually his co-pilot. He was able to call me on his way down and give me an estimate of when he would arrive. It was great! We could find the location for the wedding easily and quickly. He was very pleased with the ease of operating while he was driving. We are very happy with this product. The bonus was that Ron could even upload his music for the trip. The large screen is a bonus for the near-sighted wife.

Works well.

We purchased the Garmin Nuvi 650 after reading reviews of many kinds of GPS devices. Our lovely, intelligent and competent college senior has one notable flaw and that's no sense of direction. This was our way of helping her get where she needed to go without fumbling with MapQuest directions in her lap (if she remembered to print out directions to begin with). We purchased the unit before heading on a 1600 mile trek to drive her to college in Florida. The unit worked well, although there were times when we selected a different route based on the map and the unit was rather slow in giving us a viable new route. Still, the picture is good, the voice is clear, and it is very reliable overall. It did an impressive job of guiding us through Miami traffic. Our daughter continues to use it and like it and, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't been lost yet this semester.

Fantastic..garmin nuvi 650 4.3 screen

Garmin nuvi 650 is a fantastic gps...easy to see with its wide screen, extensive list of places, plenty of beforehand instructions, and repeats again just before turn on specific streets. slender, and easy to drop into your handbag. redirects nicely when you take an off turn stop. fun and accurate.
