Best antivirus I've tried

Stop looking for the best antivirus... you've found it. Although you need to have a little experience to get the best out of this program... i believe you can use its basic functions and will work for you. I highly recommend it if you love web surfing and checking strange sites.
I've had installed other softwares in my computer before (norton, avg, Mcafee, panda)and this is the best i've had so far. Your computer will get a little slower than usual, but believe me... it's worth it!!!

Kaspersky offers a cheap Avti-virus version 8 download

I found a Kaspersky link on this Amazon page for a Kaspersky "Anti-virus 2009" package for $17.95; it's under "Customers Viewing This Page May Be Interested in These Sponsored Links." below the product description of this product. The customer service wasn't great but it's a $17.95 purchase. After a fair amount of difficulty, not all Kaspersky's fault, I have sucessfully installed their software.

My experience-your's will likely differ: Because IE7 stopped working on my laptop shortly after buying it a year ago with Vista Home edition, I have been using Firefox, recently updated to #3. I easily downloaded the Kaspersky software but couldn't get it to install-the installation wizard wouldn't open. I tested my downloader with a couple free programs from CNET: a spyware that wouldn't install but another non-spyware did install easily. I went to the Microsoft site and downloaded their (KB890830) Malicious Software detector and removal tool and did a full scan which found no malware of any kind.

Kaspersky offers a free virus scan at their website, but only with IE. Suspecting that my use of Firefox could be the reason Kaspersky wouldn't install I checked IE7 this morning and it wasn't working. After the Microsoft MSD&RT scan, I notced a new IE7 shortcut icon on my taskbar. I clicked on it and IE7 magically started working. I tried to install the Kaspersky and it installed easily. I am no geek. I surmise that this Kaspersky will only install with IE as the browser. I'm just happy to have this done with my laptop running OK and now I can just use the darn thing as the tool it is.

I'm giving it three stars because I do not know how well it will actually perform
