Lupus recovery diet
It gives some ideas, even if you do not follow everything it gives you some idea to improve your way of eating and feeling better in a general sense. Sick or healty it gives some useful advices.

I lost 20 pounds in one month!
We started doing this
diet
when my wife was diagnosed with Scleroderma. It turns out she has the mildest form of scleroderma, called localized morphea, and it is not like threatening (Thank God). Anyway, she started on it as a hope of avoiding all the side effects of the available medications and I started it to help her stick with it.
We had been on a "South Beach" type high protein diet, which gave me kidney stones. When I started this diet, I was 6'5", 240 pounds. In the first month, changing nothing but my diet, I lost 20 pounds! The second month another 10, then it slowed down. Wow! When I went for my annual checkup, my doctor couldn't believe how good my blood work was. He didn't think diet could have
that
kind of effect on my numbers. My father has a history of heart
disease
and my doctor was considering putting me on medication. Not any more!
My wife has been going to one of the top Scleroderma specialists in the world and he was also amazed that the hard patches on her skin were getting softer.
Thank you, Jill, for writing a book that changed our lives (and perhaps saved mine).

is very helpful. I stay medication free and close to symptom free following the suggestions at about 95% (not
that
I like to admit cheating periodically)
It has been an excellent resource not only for me, but for several friends with lupus,CFS and cancer. My doctors were in the "it can't hurt" category and all are amazed at my bloodwork.
A wonderful life change
I have been affected by Auto Immune for 15 years. I have been on steroids on and off for
that
entire time. After two straight years on the steroids I decided to do whatever necessary to get off of them.
I read Jill's book and it has changed my life. I am following the majority of the
diet
100% of the time. No flour, sugar, dairy, and also no artifical sweeteners (I was addicted to Diet Coke). I am now off the steroids and Aleve and am completely pain free.
Everyone in my life comments on how much energy I have and how I seem like a different person.
I am a believer in this lifestyle and I will stick by it for the rest of my life. Thank you Jill.
