Awesome Computer!
I have the 8GB Pearl White
Eee
and I absolutely love it! Weighing less than 2 lbs., this is so much easier to lug around that my 7 lb. laptop was. But that is only one of the advantages of the Eee.
If you need more hard drive space, you can connect a USB external hard drive. When using this computer at home, if the keyboard is too small for you, connect a full size USB keyboard. Want a larger monitor? Connect a USB monitor. Need more USB ports? They have some cute little USB Hubs available for that purpose.
Mine came with
Linux
. I had planned to get rid of Linux and install Windows XP instead, but I ended up liking Linux so much that I have kept it and am planning to set up XP as a secondary operating system and dual boot. Linux is just so quick and easy to use, and the system boots up so much more quickly than a Windows system does.
In short, not only is this a great little lightweight computer to take on the road with you, it can also become your full size "desktop." It is becoming very popular on college campuses because it can be hooked up to monitors, hard drives and keyboards in the dorm rooms, then disconnected and taken to class for notes, homework, etc.
A great place to go for information on the
Asus
Eee is eeeuser.com.

Really Happy
Is the perfect PC for you to carry around. It has all the prog
ram
s you normally use. Powerful Wifi.
Great, but a few things
Great idea, executed well. The disappointment comes in the announcement of larger screen and Windows for in the $400-500 range. I am still having trouble getting it hooked up to my cell phone, making a connection, and none of the blogs have been of any help. What should be in the Options file? What is the trick with getting hooked up to the Palm Treo 700W?
ASUS
and XANDROS need to turn some Tech people loose and get it on the user forums!

Four Asus Eee machines
ASUS
2g-Lush Green, ASUS 4g-Pearl White, ASUS 4g-
Black
, and ASUS 8g-Pearl White
Actually, I liked the Asus so much, I purchased one for my neighbor who drives me to the doctor, to the grocery store and to the pet food store. I also purchased one for my daughter and one for another friend whose birthday isn't until July, and I am waiting for a gift I am giving myself from Amazon via DATA-VISION a pearl white 8g ASUS
Eee
. Each recipient of an Eee has been delighted with Unix and with the size of the computer. Amazing! Not long ago, we didn't buy computers because they took up entire rooms. Now, we have the ASUS. It fits in the palm of my hand. I wouldn't buy four of them for my daughter two friends and me if I weren't most favorably impressed. linda b

Outstanding and it has Linux!
A nice, awesome portable pc. Some call it a laptop, but I would call it a palmtop. lol
It comes with Xandros Linus. For the ignorant, this is a very Windows similar and compatible distro of
Linux
that allows instant familiarity and setup. If you know Windows XP, you will be comfortable and happy with Xandros.
Personally, I ditched Xandros and put another Linux on mine. I use mine for security audits, war driving and site surveillance.
There are some completely ignorant reviews on here made by fools that are still trying to figure out how to double click properly. They complain about a lack of power, they complain about Linux, they complain that the screen is only 7 inches, and it goes on and on. Obviously, these people are the people that would have been eaten by dinosaurs. The specs and details are available. So I guess these morons just bought it because it was cute? How dare they complain.
It is small, quiet and the battery lasts a long time. It is a pleasure to use. Of course, this is not for everyone. For those of you who can use or do need this, it is well worth it.
