Really great DVD!

This DVD is an exceptional value! It is so nice and easy to follow, even child can learn from it! It teaches all the basics, the hardware setup, basic techniques- very nice! I must agree this video must be shipped with every kit as it saves time and frustration. I was interested in particular in blues drumming and purchased this DVD with "Blues Drums" by Dave Russell and liked both. This DVD is superb educational and training resource. Tommy has great flair for teaching. The course is nicely structured and clearly delivered. Absolutely recommend to anyone who starts on the drums.

Excellent program for beginners!

Tommy Igoe does an excellent job of introducing you to the basics of drumming from setting up your kit, techniques, etc. Tommy comes across as a dedicated artist who has a passion for his craft, yet shares his knowledge to his students in a very encouraging way. Tommy goes step by step to show you good technique and he gets you playing as you watch. He also has some of his students demonstrate and play songs that you can learn today! Highly recommended for anyone who has an interest in drumming!

It was all good

I purchased a drum set for my 15 yr old daughter. Both she and my 13 yr old son set up the portable dvd player and went to "school". I was amazed by their progress in the space of one week. It beats paying $20.00 per half hour lesson.

awesome instructional dvd!!!

I bought this one for my 4 years old son to teach him how to play drums. I just went through the DVD myself so I can teach it to him. Although I've never played drums before, I was able to pick up some of the critical essences of drumming after the first viewing. I am very impressed with Tommy's teaching style which is very practical and easy to follow (contents are abundance and without any fluff). I can't wait to show it to my son and watch how he learn from it. I also bought Tommy's "groove essential" dvd which is another awesome product. The richness of its contents is just amazing. They both definitely worth every penny.
