Works great! Not the most comfortable.

If it was more comfortable to use it would get 5 stars. The stick is easy to use, plug and play with no troubles. My only complaint is that it is not very comfortable to use. It is adjustable, but for me it is not comfortable in any configuration. I came to this stick from an old Microsoft Sidewinder which is perfectly molded to your hand and non fatiguing, but doesn't work with Win XP.

Great Joystick overall. A++
I've logged hundreds of hours on mine in the battlefield series of games, as well as Star Wars Battlefront 2.
You can DOGFIGHT ANYBODY, STARFIGHT ANYBODY, and very likely win, with this joystick, hands down.

The base spans out nice and wide as seen, the rubber pads on the bottom grasp my desk very good, and it does not slide around at all while using it.

I was worried about how tall the joystick is, fearing it would be uncomfortable or be hard on the elbow/wrist angle....
Not so at all, it is a very comfortable fit for a medium to large size hand.

Smaller hands might have trouble because setting the palmrest higher means wrist angle will be greater because of higher grasp.....

Only one small con, the throttle being directly in the middle at the back is very difficult to manipulate, almost troublesome.
I still use the keyboard for throttle control, but this is most comfortable for me anyways.
But thats the sacrifice made for a joystick made to accomodate right and left handers.

I would buy this joystick again if I needed another and I would highly recommend this joystick to anybody laboring over reviews and leary of spending alot of money.

Great joystick, especially if you're left handed

I bought this joystick to play Freespace 2 and I thought it worked great. My only complaint is that there aren't enough ACCESSIBLE buttons. There are three buttons on each side of the base, but it's difficult to reach around the joystick with your free hand to press the buttons on the other side when you're in the middle of a dogfight. It'd be nicer to have all 6 buttons mirrored on each side (for lefties and righties).

Some people complain about your arm blocking the throttle lever in the middle, but I didn't have a problem with that. When you hold the joystick, your arm is well above the throttle and at a slight angle so there's never any crossover. Unless you bend your wrist downwards on purpose, I don't see how that could ever become a problem.

Pros:
- Works for both left-handed and right-handed people.
- Easily adjusted to fit your hand. No tools required.
- Analogue throttle works well.
- Pretty sturdy contruction.
- Heavy enough to keep itself in place.

Cons:
- Half of the buttons on the base are hard to reach, depending on which hand you use to control the joystick.

Very Good Saitek!

Recently my old Microsoft Sidewinder Pro died and i was off on a search for a new joystick.As you all know since Microsoft got out of the gaming hardware industry their have been many poor items on the market.Did not want to spend the money on a CH product,out of the budget,but wanted something fairly good.This is the puppy for those needing a good joystick on a budget.Does it have its flaws?Yes it does but none are as glaring as the problems with the recent Logitechs.For the money it is the best i have found.

Amazing customer service

Shortly after purchasing a new cyborg evo, I dropped it and one of the small buttons broke off. I thought oh, well that's life, but decided to e-mail Saitek to see if I could get a replacement. They responded very quickly and mailed a replacement to me at no charge. I have found that this joystick works perfectly for my needs. It's a quality product from a quality company!
