A little relief from a big problem!

Without pets or rugs, we were confused when the unwelcomed guests starting appearing in our house. Turns out a critter took retreat in our crawl space and brought with it a slew of nasty friends. In an attempt to do things poison-free, we got this trap. I cannot say it took care of the problem 100%- i mean we are dealing with a REAL pest- but it certainly did render the little dudes suicidal. Not only do they flock to the trap, but those that dont make it to the glue seem to chill out just outside waiting for a chance to join their dead friends. I bought 3 more traps and have been catching everything from fruit flies to spiders. I REALLY like this trap, and i REALLY dont like fleas!

Won't get them all but...

I have three of these traps, two downstairs and one upstairs. So far upstairs I haven't caught any fleas and I'm hoping none have migrated up there as of yet. Downstairs, in the two rooms the cats frequent the most since picking up fleas, the two traps have caught several fleas in each, around 15 each.

Initially, I had only one trap and placed it in one downstairs room the cats normally sleep in. I think it took a day or so before any fleas were caught. This was after a thorough vacuuming with a Dyson. When I bought the second one for the adjoining room, also after a couple of vacuums, it caught about 5 fleas within the first 4 hours.

It's been about 3 weeks that I've had all three plugged in 24/7 and I've seen a couple of new fleas added. You can't just plug them in for a few hours and think that's it. Even if it catches nothing for a few days, eventually if you have fleas (or new fleas hatching from eggs in your carpet), it will. I do not have (nor never had) any fleas jumping on my white socks, biting me or visible in the carpet but I am still finding them when I flea comb my cats. I'm hoping with the traps, DE dust mixed with a flea carpet powder, and Advantage on my cats, this problem will be completely gone soon.

These traps won't cure the problem all by themselves, but they do help and let you know where the majority of the fleas are. You will need several for any rooms that may be infected, but it may be worth the investment.

*On a side note, dish-soap water in a shallow bowl/pan under nightlights (all purchased from the dollar store) worked too but they attract more gnats than fleas. I have caught a few from the water traps too.

Victor's Flea Trap Works

We bought two of these Victor's Flea Traps as we had a problem with fleas on our two dogs. As soon as we put them together, put the light on and plugged them in, it started to attract the little pests. This combined with our vet putting our dogs on Comfortis for fleas did the trick.
