It works.
-Like the one-step update: uploads 401K detail within transactions that Hewitt doesn't provide on their site, uploads credit card and banking info. I use this frequently.
-Like the 'Net Worth' Center, and how the sections are organized.
-Like the 'Planning' Center.
-Like that I was able to download my turbotax file for
2007
tax year for 2008 use.
-It's enabled me to have low-stress, very organized, time-efficient way of managing my personal finances. It's a robust solution that, for a semi-novice like me, is occasionally complex - but I manage. At a glance, it seems more robust than MS Money.
-Dislike the barrage of obvious/blatant steering to use their other products/services.
Overall, glad I purchased it for 69 at Sam's - it exceeded my expectations. (I run a Pentium 4, 2.8GHz, w2G ram for those - perhaps relevant to those whose complaints take aim at memory-challenging fancy visuals) I've had no problem whatsoever on that front.

It installed without any problems. It runs without any problems. I am very happy with it.
I am a convert from Microsoft Money. I am self employed and have one employee. My wife is also self-employed. We have twenty different financial accounts (investment accounts, retirement accounts, checking accounts, savings accounts, a mortgage, a
home
equity line of credit and credit cards). We often pay
business
expenses with our personal credit card, as the credit card gives us frequent flyer miles for every purchase.
Quicken
2007
Home and Business allows us to do our personal accounting and business accounting all in one program, which makes it much easier.
The one step update (automatic downloading of our transactions and balances from financial institutions) works with 17 of our 20 accounts. Downloading data from the other 3 accounts requires some manual steps, but is still fairly painless.
I like the online backup feature. It is inexpensive (you pay a small annual charge) and easy to use.
I am not very impressed with the investment analysis features, although I have not yet fully explored them. I would like to be able to compute realized and unrealized annualized rates of return for individual positions or groups of positions, and it doesn't seem like I can do that in this program.

Not a major upgrade but still the best!
I resisted upgrading my 2004
version
, especially after reading the reviews here. But the R4 release upgraded all by
business
, bank, and investment accounts without any problems.
For business, the accountants would rather you use Quickbooks, but since mine is a simple service based business, I still refuse.
Quicken
works just fine and having everything in one place is just too valuable.
It looks largely the same as 2004. But I was impressed by the online improvements, which is why the 2004 version is not longer supported. Now, it will automatically rename things the way you like. Since this eases the biggest problem of using software like Quicken, namely the discipline to enter and label everything, it a huge benefit.
If you are looking to get control over your cashflow, and see the forest through the trees, this is the program. Learn it, know it, live it.

Good Program
This program is dependable and adequate within the limits that it is avertised to do. For instance, it won't keep track of inventory, since it was not designed to do so.
