Nice product, software was buggy for me

The blood pressure cuff itself is as good as the automatic home electronic variety get. I tried to install the software to download the reading history and it installed, but would crash as soon as it launched. I haven't tried installing it on my laptop yet - but I'm assuming it's some problem with Windows on my main machine. Regardless, the product itself is perfect for 2 people to use simultaneously as there is an A/B selector switch...nice product.

Excellent Product

The Omron HEM 790-IT is a very easy to use BP machine with great accuracy. The feature of being able to either do just one measurement or set of three in one minute intervals automatically to get an average BP reading is great. The best thing I like is the software program where I can download my readings via USB on my PC and it be automatically charted and graphed for me to read or print out for my doctor to review. An excellent product that I highly recommend.

This was a good purchase. Great bagain considering the price I paid through Amazon. This makes daily monitoring of BP a snap. Put it in a drawer of your desk at work and pop the cuff on periodically throughout the day -- paints a much clearer picture of your BP situation. Load the software onto your PC and downloading historical data from the device to your PC is easy. The graphical reports paint the picture you need to see. Your Dr will love the comprehensive nature of the data. Now -- instead of having to visit my Dr. every 30-days I just email him the reports from the software. The preformed cuff is a real plus too. Great value for the money. I find that -- because of its ease-of-use -- I take my BP much more frequently and regularly throughout the day allowing my Dr. to get a much better picture of my BP situation. This has allowed him to tweak the meds more effectively.

Blood Pressure Monitor

I have used Omron BP monitors for many, many years. I recently received the Omron pedometer as a gift and saw the HEM-790IT as a companion product. Both use the same software package into which you can upload your BP and walking/running data. I thought it was another fun electronic gaget that gives me something to look at, until I recently went to my health-care provider with a print out of my BP readings for the past two months; the software gives you printouts for any number of periods of time. She poured over the data like it was something form the lab, and we discussed adjustments to my HTN treatment. Other things you can do is set up for multiple BP readings at the same session, which may be important if you BP fluctuates quickly; it keeps track of individual readings and also provides an average. It's a bit pricy and you can get the same readings from less expensive Omron models. But, if you're interested in having the machine do the data collection and you want to integrate the pedometer at some point, this is worth owning. I'm having fun with it, anyway.
