Very satisfied with this choice

After a lot of research, we finally decided on this 58" Panasonic Plasma TV (the choice was between the 52" Sony XRR4 and this TV). The TV was delivered this Saturday (a week after placing the order). The delivery crew were excellent and very helpful. The TV was all set and ready to use by the time they left the house.

The TV is very good and the colors are wonderful. It was a great experience watching Spider Man on this big screen TV. The up-converting Oppo 980 DVD player is a good choice to go with this TV to watch our collection of DVD's. I had some trouble to get the PS3 over HDMI Out working, but got it resolved using the trick written by one of the contributors on the HDMI Cable thread. I bought the HDMI cables from Amazon ($13 each) and they seem to work fine!

Just Got this bad boy!

I want to first thank Amazon.Com for the price, free delivery and no tax. This exact set at __ Buy was $1100 dollars more. The entire experience went off without a hitch. Delivery was 10 days after purchase and the local delivery people installed the set but did not set up the cables, etc, so they wen't beyond what was expected. Will definitely use Amazon again.

1. This TV has anti glare coating so there is no glare to deal with like some other Plasma models.

2. The book does say you should not be in 4.3 mode with the black bands for two long a period or you will get burn in. I let the Fill choice the best anyways so there is no bands to see.

3. If you have cable, the 1080p only works on your HD channels. All the other channels are at 480i. I may go to satellite for just that reason. Why pay for 1080 anything and not be able to use it?

4. Sound seems more than adequate with a deep base tone. Have not hooked up the surround yet.

5. The instruction manual is so so. Plan on looking at the diagrams a lot because there is a lack of explanation to go along with them.

6. I would want to use the straps for this if I had young children. Its seems top heavy and leans a little forward. The straps have to be screwed into what ever the TV sits on. I'm not willing to put holes into the back of the customized wooden cabinent I have made for this. If my stand was plastic I have no clue how you would strap this down other than to the wall with a nail and wire?

For the price I think this is a steal and so is the 50". I would have been just as happy with that but they are out of stock so I went with the bad boy. The HD channels you think your right there where its happening. The picture is almost better than being there if thats possible.

Great TV at a great price!

I read many reviews and looking at TVs in the stores before
deciding to purchase this Panasonic plasma. It is awesome!
HD looks unbelievable. We are still in the first 100 hrs break in
so the picture will only get better from here. You won't be
disappointed with this purchase. Just remember to have 2 people
to help unbox and install it. We put ours on the included pedestal
in our entertainment center and it looks great.

Great Viewing!

This is a great TV. Wonderful, clear picture and the sound is fine. One of "Consumer Reports" magazine's top picks and it doesn't disappoint!

Don't let anyone tell you too big is too big.....

"WOW" is the most common reaction from EVERYONE who has come by to watch the Superbowl, College Basketball and even Desperate Housewifes (I swear it's my wife that watches it).....

Excellent picture quality, set up was not to bad but would recommend you have 3 strong people to hang and install if you're not going to have it professionally installed.

It took about a week to get use to the picutre size as I went from a 42" to this 58" and now I'm thinking I should have gone bigger LOL.

Great bold colors, dark blacks and have noticed no problems with the picture keeping up with the various viewing items.

Have played PS3 games and Blueray Movies, regular DVD's, HD and Regular Television stations all with great reception. Would highly recommend this product.

Do wish the plug was a little bit longer, just had enough to go from rear of TV, through the wall and down to a powerstrip. Had the TV been hung ANY higher, I would have had to invest in a longer cord or extension cord.

Panasonic knew what they were doing with this TV!!!
