The Deep

I bougt this for my nephew as a Christmas gift. It was exactly what he wanted. He gave me the "thumbs up" so I know I did good. He is 12 years old and we took him to the movie a couple of years ago and since then he has really been interested in the ocean and it's creatures. He loves to read and learn so this book and the several others I bought him were just perfect. If you have a child who loves the ocean and wants to learn about it and it's creatures I would recommend this book! They might just give you the "thumbs up"

Aliens in our own oceans! Incredible book and photography

I saw some of the content of this book in my Smithsonian magazine a few months ago. I bought the book as a result, and must say the pictures are amazing, incredible and in some cases, hard to really believe. If you saw the Blue Planet series (Deep Oceans) then you will appreciate the content of this book. The recent Planet Earth had some amazing video of deep ocean life, many of which are portrayed in this book. The written content is not academically stuffy, easy to read with the pictures and well laid out. This book reminds us of the great variety of life in our world yet undiscovered and can be appreciated from a nature or even philosophical perspective. This book was a great purchase. I treasure it.
