Best workout I've done

I'm 46 years old and exercise every day. I alternate my exercise routine between my treadmill (60 min/day) and my exercise tapes (45-60 min/day). I don't consider myself hardcore at all...I'm overweight but enjoy exercising. Can't seem to say no to sweets. Anyhow, I've been a devoted fan to The Firm exercise tapes for years. I must say that this DVD blew my workout to a whole new level. It's serious work, but what is great is that it's intense for only 20 mins. During the workout I say to myself, I can do 20 mins....just a few mins more...push through it. I've been doing this DVD every other day now for 3 weeks. I can't believe the definition in my muscle tone. I haven't lost weight (since I indulge all the time) but I totally have a more sculpted look. I can actually see serious muscle definition in my legs, shoulder, arms, and my abs are unbelievable. I'm in shock, I keep looking at them in disbelief. My husband was astonished as well, he noticed the change and didn't even know I was doing something different. He said to me the other day, "Wow...you are so toned, you look great." If you are serious, want an extreme challenging workout, this is the one for you. If you stick with it (it's hard) you will definitely see results, I can guarantee you that. Rock on Jillian and give us some more workout DVD's like this!

energetic, maybe little too much

My lower body was sour next day so I thought it's a good thing but there was something else: my right knee was hurting a lot. I did everything exactly as Jillian was telling, avoiding "dangerous" poses, but it didn't stop my knee from injury. I couldn't walk properly for few days.
So enjoy the video but be very careful not to stretch your knee joints too much.

It's funny to hear the complaints from the other reviewers. JM is no joke. She is a trainer..if I had a personal trainer I would want that person to be hard on me and to have the same vision as me...TO LOSE WEIGHT AND GAIN MUSCLE. 20 lbs in 30 days??? It's not going to be easy. It's hard work. Everyone wants a magic pill to lose weight..YOU HAVE TO WORK AND BE CONSISTENT AND STAY FOCUSED. I borrowed the DVD from a co-worker and I was so impressed that I got online right away and made my purchase. I can't wait to get. I'm ready to lose weight..

WOW!

I just did this workout tape for the first time yesterday, and it is REALLY HARD! I consider myself in pretty good shape and so I was under the impression that the level one workout would be easy. Boy was I wrong!! I literally had to push myself to be able to finish it and I am still a little sore today. I am confident that if I do this every day, I will lose weight and tone up! I would recommend this video and definitely suggest that you start at level one!!!






very intense

WOW! I've never had a workout this intense AND this quick. The good news is that you get to only workout for 20-30 minutes a day and actually see results, especially if you've been out of shape, like me, for a few years after giving birth! (I lost all my birth-weight, but was just flabby and out of shape from not working out). The bad news is, as Jillian Michaels herself acknowledges, if you want to see results in just a measly 20-minute workout a day, you better be prepared to work HARD with NO breaks. That was the hardest part of it. I actually prefer to workout longer with a few more breaks. And I was worried that without any stretching, I'd incur an injury, but I didn't get any injuries. I started out with Level 1 thinking it would be easy and it was very hard and I didn't think I'd ever move on to Level 2. But within 7 days, I was ready to move on to Level 2 and actually made it to Level 3. As with every exercise video, I eventually got burnt out on it, and needed to switch it out with other videos. But it definitely got me in shape to move on to other videos and actually start seeing my old muscles again!!
