Wow was I Impressed

I had been using CRT's monitors for years and thought I would go bigger and "newer" technology. After doing much research I decided to go with the Samsung Syncmaster 740N. I was blown away by the display right out of the box !!! I was concerned about certain aspects that an LCD monitor could handle but this baby hasn't let me down in any facet yet. I would "highly" recommend this jewel for anyone, for any application.
The one thing of note. I would recommend that you choose to use "cleartype" instead of "standard" in the font smoothing. Does make a difference that you can clearly see.
What are you waiting for, go get this monitor and get happy !!!!

Great for my workplace computer

In my hospital system they just replaced all of the monitors and cpu's on our wing, and I am pleasently surprised that they chose this nice of a monitor. Large display as compared to the 15 inch huge box of a unit I had previously. The resolution setting is 1280x1024 right now with the cheap videocard the hospital bought running at max. There is no flicker or blurring, very sharp picture, doesn't give me a headache as much as the old unit. Easy to use fron on/off control buttons with onscreen set up. The cords and cables are concealed underneath as shield at the back, keeps some of the eyesore hidden. I would be happy to take this home to my computer anyday. Recommended, reasonable value it looks like as well.

Samsung LCD Monitor

Has great resolution and picture. If it had speakers it would be an excellent purchase (it didn't say it had speakers I just wish I had considered that prior.).

Excellent monitor that I have at my office, works great, great resolution.

I have had this monitor for about 5 months now, and have been 100% satisfied with it. It has a clear picture with a nice high resolution, and beats the heck out of the big box i had. It has the quality of being a samsung as well. Resolution with the video card in my computer goes to 1280 x 1024. Their is likely a newer version of this monitor available with potentially better resolution by now, but this is a tough one to beat. This model is 17 inches, their is likely a 19" and 21" model of this monitor as well, which with samsung you will keep great resolution even getting the larger monitor. Samsung also make a great 19" widescreen that runs between $200 and $230 at most places, resolution is 1400 x 900 for the models I have seen. But, for a great NAME BRAND monitor at a decent price, this would be an affordable option. Compare, and I think you will see this is true
