Shakespeare! Seriously.
For some reason, Shakespeare translates very well to modern high school. I think it's the social cliques and emotions running high. I think this is one of the funnier adaptations, along the lines of "10 Things I Hate About You," but with the story line for "Twelfth Night" instead of "Taming of the Shrew."
The actors didn't hold back on the comedy, the adaptation is well written, and the story is a classic. I actually think the disguises make more sense than in the original play; where in the original, people actually got the twins mixed up, in this adaptation, no one who knew either of them really well got a good look at Viola when she was being Sebastian.
There were lots of nice references back to the original, as well: Duke's speech at the end, the spider "Malvolio," Cesario's pizza place.
If you like Shakespeare or teenage ro

I liked this better when it was called Just One of the Guys.
She's the
Man
is pretty amusing and entertaining, but there are other movies in the same theme that are better, namely Just One of the Guys.
I couldn't believe the similarities between the movies: even down to the "I have to do this for two weeks in another school to prove myself" theme.
I remember Amanda Bynes from Nickelodeon, and I really liked her brand of comedy. She's pretty good at carrying the movie.
Bottom Line: a decent movie but nowhere near great.
Very Funny! Great Movie!
This movie is great! I love A
man
da Bynes in it- she is so funny, and adds to not only the character she plays, but the whole movie. I also liked Channing Tatum, and what he brought to the movie as well. It is about Viola (Bynes) taking her brother's place on a soccer team, because the girl's team at her school got cut. Her roommate is Duke (Tatum) who she ends up falling in love with. A girl by the name of Olivia (Laura Ramsey) ends up falling in love with Viola (who is pretending to be Sebastian), and goes on a date with Duke to make her (him) jealous. This movie has a lot of physical comedy, and makes me laugh every time I watch it. Once again, it's a great movie, and well worth the money!

She IS the Man...
I actually laughed out LOUD on this movie! Predictable? Of course, but still fun...and the family can actually watch (and laugh) with you! Four stars for this movie!
Fun To Watch
Viola (A
man
da Bynes) is a star in the girl's soccer team at school. Due to lack of girls who would like to join the team, the girls soccer team is ended. Viola's twin brother (Sebastion) goes to London for two weeks so Viola poses as him to get on the guys soccer team. The movie has a nice love triangle - or more than a triangle. It is fun to see how Viola copes with living in a guys dorm. The story is nice, and funny. The acting is good. Overall it is a nice, simple movie to watch.
