Not a major upgrade but still the best!

I resisted upgrading my 2004 version, especially after reading the reviews here. But the R4 release upgraded all by business, bank, and investment accounts without any problems.

For business, the accountants would rather you use Quickbooks, but since mine is a simple service based business, I still refuse. Quicken works just fine and having everything in one place is just too valuable.

It looks largely the same as 2004. But I was impressed by the online improvements, which is why the 2004 version is not longer supported. Now, it will automatically rename things the way you like. Since this eases the biggest problem of using software like Quicken, namely the discipline to enter and label everything, it a huge benefit.

If you are looking to get control over your cashflow, and see the forest through the trees, this is the program. Learn it, know it, live it.

There have been enough changes for the better to make this product well worth the purchase, installation, & learning curve.

I REALLY wish the Intuit idiots would've left well enough alone, or at LEAST, only FIXED the problems with the old version, instead of intruducing new ones with the new version. We STILL can't fully customize the Invoices. What a waste. Hey, Intuit, here's a clue: PEOPLE NEED THEIR CUSTOMER'S PHONE NUMBER ON THEIR INVOICES!!! Duh! Now for the bad, There are now annoying zzzzz's on my account names in graphs. Some of my data doesn't show unless I finagle with it, the new fonts are too big, and even though I use 1024x768 resolution, and have a 19" monitor, all of my headings no longer show, as they did before. Accepting and verifying downloaded transactions is now a [...] shoot, whereas it used to be more visible and easy before. Isn't it GREAT that such large companies hire such moronic developers and put out software with so many bugs? We get to be the free crash test dummies. And the WORST part is that these scumbags force us to upgrade every 3 years so they can keep their stockholders happy.
