Advances in Inkjet Printers

I was somewhat surprised at the speed and accuracy of the Canon 4500 printer compared to my previous printer, an Epson Stylus 760. The Epson was new in 2000 and did last a long time before failing. My hopes are that the Canon will follow its quality performance with longevity.

Review of Canon IP4500 printer.

I have had this printer (the 3rd Cannon IP I have had) for about a month and a half and so far it is all that I could expect of it. It prints great and the ink cartridges are reasonable. The other 2 printers are still in service and working fine. I would recommend this and the IP80 for excellent quality and reasonable ink prices. I would have given it 5 out out of 5 stars but I have not had it long enough.

Worked great right out of the box.

We replaced our Canon S900, which never made good photos, and finally stopped functioning (possibly due to using non-Canon ink cartridges?) with the Canon PIXMA iP4500. Our original concern with going w/ another Canon printer was quickly replaced with our happines w/ the high quality of the photos it makes, even on sub-standard paper. It's big, but w/ two paper feeds, we don't have to constantly switch back and forth between photo and print paper. When it's closed up, the design prevents dust from entering the unit much better than the S900. Strangely, it didn't come with a UBS cord to connect it w/ our laptop, but we used the old one from the S900. I'd highly recommend the printer - I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars because of the high cost of Canon ink cartridges.

Super deal!

My Canon Pixma iP4500 printer is really great! Just plug it in and let it do its thing while initializing and then you are ready to go. I really like the auto on and off feature. Both the text and photo quality are top rate. The price delivered from Amazon.com was hard to believe. The print head on my old Canon i960 had some problems but with Amazon's great price it didn't cost much more to buy the new iP4500 delivered than it would have cost to replace the print head on my old printer.
I highly recommend this printer.

Prints photos amazingly. No complaints whatsoever. Not to buyers: You will need to get a USB cable to use this printer.
