Fine lens for a budget
Wow..been looking at this
lens
for 6 months. Couldn't say no when I found it for $320.00 and free shipping. Even though I've only had it for a few days, I've taken a couple hundred shot with it under different conditions. Yes it does have a slower A/F. Found a hawk flying just above the tree line yesterday and it hard a hard time picking him up. Stationary objects I haven't had any trouble. Has produced clear sharp images for myself, even without a tripod if you can hold tight or brace yourself against something or take from a sitting position. Have noticed that I am adjusting my ISO settings more when I am in lower light, not to bad though between 200 and 400. For the money, I am more than pleased with my new toy. My camera body is a E-500.

I thought I would give this
lens
a try and was very pleased with the clarity and magnification. It would be nice if the lens was faster but for the price and combination with my E-3's internal image stablization, I can shoot clear focus images with wonderful clarity while hand holding at the 600mm equlivant focal length even while moving in a car! Definately worth the price.
Good lens for money
I'm happy with this
lens
but some practice is recommended. It takes some time and experimenting to get used to little slow AF. I took pictures on Formula 1 race and some pictures came out blurry. But this is not pro-type lens and for the money you pay for it it's really good. Use tripod if possible - IS is effective only to the certain degree.

Amazing Lens for price
This
lens
is amazing for its price. For its focal range, I can even hand hold it in the daytime.
Great choice for a really good telephoto lens that does not break the bank.
Great lens, Great value
The
300mm
lens
is a superb telephoto. It is light enough to be used hand
held at high shutter speeds and has performed flawlessly for me. Auto focus
is fast and precise, even in moderately low light. At this price I consider
the lens an outstanding value
This summer we have american eagles nesting in a very tall white pine next
to our Wisconsin home. For a clear view of the tree top you have to be 150
feet from the base. My 150mm lens was just not enough telephoto. The 300 is
just right and performs perfectly. The pictures are sharp and the color
perfect. I'm completely satisfied and would recommend this lens to anyone
interested in wild life photography or general telephotography.
One minor point. The accompanying instructions are brief and do not cover
the use of the lens for macrophotography.
