Does not hold 2,000+ songs

While I really like my Sony Walkman MP3 player so far, I am very disappointed in the number of songs the player is capable of holding. Based on the Amazon description and some of the product reviews, I thought that 4 GB of space would last me awhile since all I use the player for is listening to songs while I work out - no videos, no pics. So I bought the player yesterday, and I have used almost all the space on about 560 songs. I am resyncing my device right now to convert all the music files to an 128 kbps format, but I don't think I'll even get close to putting 1,000 songs on this.

I should have checked the Sony site first which says that best case scenario is 925 songs if they are 3 min long 128 kbps MP3s - which is still only 1/2 the songs Amazon claims that the player holds. If I had known all this, I would have forked out the extra $50 for an 8 GB player.

So while the player is fine, just be aware that the capacity is not what it claims to be.

I like the ease of use of this product. The sound is great! The size of the player is good for putting in your pocket or your purse while listening. I like having the radio, too. This way I can listen to the radio at work on the walkman, instead of tying up my computer. The only thing I don't like is that you can't delete songs directly from the player.

Small size, great sound

Plus:

- Very good software, after 2 weeks of use I have no "frozen" screen.
- The volume button is a huge plus.
- Screen resolution is the best.
- Easy to use menu, very intuitive.

Cons:

- Only MPE4 files can be read, and there is no software to convert included in the package (for a $ 120 it's not the best deal)
- There is no way to delete files directly from de player, it's always necessary to connect to the computer.
- If you use de "Windows Explorer" to copy files into the device, the covers of the songs will not appear in the player. You have to use the tool "Sync" in the "Windows Media Player".

Love it!

I love my little red Sony player. I travel alot and use Bose noise canceling headphones with my new "toy". It was a huge nuisance to have to carry cds and a player besides the headphones. Not to mention the whole process of loading and unloading the player. The quality of sound and the way it organizes all of my music is wonderful. Couldn't be happier.

well, i just bought this stuff for my nephew, but before i give to him , i tried to download some music ,video and some pics, wow,.. that was great so easy and very simple so the results was two thumbs : I don't have any complain. its awesome!!!!!
