Can't go wront
This is the next to best
tablet
recommended to me by fellow digital artists. By losing six square inches (compared to the 6x9) you're not missing much. As I do not have a widescreen monitor this tablet works out great for me. It has never failed on me, and is light and easy to take with me where ever I go.
The inclusion of the mouse seems a bit silly as I have a wireless mouse already, but if you have a cabled mouse it may be very useful to you. I hardly ever use mine. The
pen
comes with multiple tips to give you options of "paper feel". I don't know how else to describe it. While I have not changed my tip since purchasing this tablet, I have experimented with the different tips and they feel nice. Almost like drawing on actual paper.
One minor complaint is the cable seems to get chewed up a bit at the base where it connects to the tablet. It has an option of either going in to a slot on the back or to the side of the tablet but does not stay in either slot and if you're like me and take this thing everywhere with you, you might be a little worried that the cable will eventually break or a least expose its wire.
Love this tablet though, and it's a $100 cheaper than getting the next size up which only offers an additional six square inches. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Wacom Pen Tablet, great gift for future graphics student
My daughter who is a senior in high school and making plans to go to an Art School for a degree in "Media Arts and Animation," requested only one item for her birthday, this
pen
tablet
. She had researched most of the pen tablets on the market, and found that this was the one recommended by most graphic design people. I felt comfortable buying from Amazon.com; they had a great price and a great track record for customer satisfaction. I only wish I had thought to ask about a warranty before I purchased it. Through Amazon, you can purchase a warranty for tech gadgets. But I would have liked to buy the warranty with the tablet. Not that I'm afraid it will quit, it's just so slim and sleek looking, and we also have a 3 year old boy in the house! Oh, and it comes with a short version of PhotoShop!

Better than the Intuos 2
I have the Intuos2 at home, and use the new
Intuos3
at work. I immediately sensed the additional levels of pressure sensitivity with the 3. It's easy to set up, but you have to be patient working your way through the dialog boxes. I'm not sure of the usefulness of the buttons on the
tablet
--I just continued using the command and control keys as usual on my keyboard. They may be useful for some, but I think they're awkward.
Overall, a solid product, and an absolute must for anyone doing retouch in Photoshop or using a program like Corel Painter.

Love this Wacom3 Pen Tablet
This is my second
Wacom
Intuos
pen
tablet
, the first one being the Intuos2 which I still have and still operates perfectly. I upgraded to be able to use the art pen features. I use Photoshop and Corel Painter X a lot and this pen tablet is an absolute necessity.
Probably the best purchase I've ever made
I just came home from work to find that my Intuos 6x8 arrived in the mail today. After just a few hours of working with it, I'm still so happy about it, I could cry. This is a really wonderful piece of equipment.
First of all, it looks GOOD. It's sleek and sexy with a beautifully simplistic design that nevertheless includes a number of extremely useful shortcut buttons and scroll pads. Secondly, it's as natural as drawing on paper. In just a few seconds I was able to navigate as if I'd never used anything else and it's been a couple of years since I've used a
tablet
. The levels of pressure sensitivity are simply amazing and I have an incredible amount of control over every aspect of every line I draw. Thirdly, it's slim, light, and just slightly smaller than my notebook, which really eases my concerns about traveling with it.
I'm incredibly impressed and I really do think, as the title of my review states, that this is probably the best purchase I've ever made. I seriously doubt if I'll be going to bed tonight, since I'll be so busy exploring my new tablet.
