Sleek N Sexy

The feel of the keyboard closely resembles that of a Laptop layout. You will either love it or hate it. For me, I love it especially due to the F1-F12 keys being close to the number keys (I'm a gamer).

One thing that boggles me is the fact that the mfgr added another Backslash "\" key between the Left Alt and Space Bar buttons. This will take some getting used to and is rather uncomfortable when holding the Alt button + another key for extended periods of time.

Overall, it's the solid quality and smooth keystrokes that earned this baby 4 of 5.

I love it, but the letters rub off very fast, no response from tech support.

I love the keyboard, great feeling, low profile, love the way it types. It's a little hard to get used to with the layout, but once you've used it for a while it feels more intuitive than the regular layout. (it's tighter, easier to access keys)

My main problem- and this is a biggie- is that the letters disappear quickly. Within a week of having it, the letters started to lose parts of themselves. Now, a year later, I have no markings on the cvbalnmsfg keys, and partial markings on the d&k keys. It's fine, because I touchtype and don't need to look, but it should be better made than this, even for the SOMEWHAT "low" cost.

The silver that goes around the edge also quickly becomes discolored and unattractive as the silver wears away and shows ugly yellowish-white plastic underneath.

If you don't look at your keyboard, though, it's a great buy. I love the feeling of it. I just wish it didn't end up so UGLY.

Kensington did not reply to any of my many emails addressing the issue. Not even an acknowledgment that I had contacted them via email or their website forms. THIS is the primary reason why I would not buy another Kensington keyboard.

slim type

I think it looks decent on my table. The scissor keyboard for standard keyboard layout is exactly what I am looking. The built quality is not bad. However, the chrome finish seems to peel after a month of usage and the space bar seems to squeak once in a while. Anyway, for the money, I have little to complain.

Great keyboard

I am a transcriptionist, and I got this keyboard in hopes that it would make typing easier and faster. It has definitely lived up to my expectations. If you like the feel of a laptop keyboard but not the size or inconvenience of having it attached to the laptop, this is the keyboard for you. The touch isn't quite as light as on my real laptop keyboard, but it is definitely light and smooth. I type much faster on this than on my old traditional keyboard I was using. Plus, it's really slim and sleek looking. I highly recommend it.

Best USB keyboard I've found for this "Model M" lover

My previous keyboard was an IBM "model M" with sprung steel mechanism, attached via a PS/2 to USB adaptor. I had to get a designed-to-be-USB keyboard because I was having driver problems with Linux. I picked up one of these based on having had some good experience with Kensington trackballs.

The mechanism is very similar to an IBM ThinkPad laptop keyboard; so if you like those, you'll like this. The scissor switch has tactile response like a sprung steel mechanism, but with much smaller key travel. It's also a lot quieter than a proper sprung steel keyboard.

Works perfectly with Linux, including being able to map all the multimedia keys.
