Samsung syncmaster 226bw

SUPER monitor~~ Makes my computer use so much more enjoyable. I will be purchasing another one. I do wish they had supplied an instruction manual - - other than on a disk. It would have saved me the problem of printing it for use by others.

Great Monitor

I am a photography enthusiast and this is a great monitor for working with video and pictures. Great product for a good price.

Difficult Setup

This monitor is extremely difficult to set up. I used the native Mac utility and the Samsung one. Both provided some good colors and some bad. I think I tried over 10 times before I was satisfied. Initially, the darker colors, looked great. But the yellow and green were horrible. They were extremely bright which made the monitor unusable.

Pros: Screen size is awesome; Rotating the screen horizontally over 180 degrees is awesome;
Cons: Difficult setup!

Absolutely Fantastic

I have owned this monitor for 2 months and use it heavily for a mix of: software development, technical graphics, writing, Web surfing and games (a good mix of different text and graphics functions).

Good:
- Text, even small text is crisp and easy to read.
- Black level is excellent.
- Brightness is excellent (In fact, I operate mine at 75% brightness.)
- Screen refresh is quick: no ghosting or blurring with fast-changing graphics
- 22 inch widescreen format provides plenty of display real estate, especially for paned GUI windows

Bad:
-None to speak of.

In comparison, I have been using a 19" HP LCD display for about 1 year, and the Smasung 226BW provides a much better image.

This monitor also strikes a nice balance, being larger than 19" monitors, and cheaper than 24" monitors.
