Simply an amazing keyboard - Apple really got the design and ergonomics right on this device. When you consider that the keyboard is one of the primary ways that you interact with your computer, it really becomes pertinent to have a comfortable and nice keyboard. Big improvement over the prior product and a beautiful design as well!

Fantastic keyboard but not transportable

I love the design of this keyboard. As many have mentioned, it is very easy to type on and large enough for regular usage. I do like the keypad as well. One reason I wanted the keyboard for use with my MacBook Air is so that I could do data entry and I have a much easier time with a keypad.

The only reason I wouldn't give this keyboard 5 stars is that the keyboard is just slightly too long for normal sized briefcases. It makes portability difficult.

Just about the best keyboard out there, showing wear tho.

I've owned 2 of these since they were released. Love the ergonomics and the metal construction. Sometimes keys dont register a touch if i hit the key off-center tho...i think its the shorter-travelling key design that throws me off. A few keys are wearing off their ink as well, particularly the "A" key on both keyboards is going gray.

I'd love to see a macbook pro-style version where the letters illuminate. Then i'd replace my gaming keyboard and only use these apple ones.

Increases your typing speed

I have to admit, I used to be a keyboard snob. In fact, it took me a long time to make the switch to Macs because I didn't want to give up my Thinkpad keyboard (IBM got that right). Finally switched to Mac laptops 4 years ago but haven't loved the keyboards....until now.

This beats the IBM keyboards. It's got that clickity clack feel and the throw is on a shorter distance, so actually makes your typing faster. My roommate, who has the same keyboard, says the same thing.

I chose this keyboard over the bluetooth one because I want the cursor keys as well as the keypad. And quite honestly, the wire is not a big deal at all.

Fantastic typing comfort!

Apple's new keyboard design is so much more than just good looks. I spend most of the day at my computer, and I can't get over how much more comfortable it is to use this keyboard.

The actual key-press is shorter -- the key travels less distance up and down -- yet, the tactile feedback is such that you don't get the feeling you're using a laptop keyboard. The pressure required to press the key is perfect -- I don't accidentally double-tap keys, but I don't have to pound them either.

Also, the keyboard is so flat that I discarded my foam wrist rest, and can rest my entire forearm on the desk in front of the keyboard and type in ergonomic bliss.

The keyboard's two USB ports are USB 2.0, though they do note that if you plug in high-power devices such as an iPod, you must have an aluminum-finish new iMac or better.

Some of the Apple-specific keys have been relocated or reassigned, which takes some getting used to, but overall the layout's better I think -- the volume keys (which I use constantly) are now right over the delete key, so you don't have to reach over to the numeric keypad to hit them. I also used to bump the eject key all the time with my mouse cord when it was right on the outer corner, and now that's over by the delete key too.
