After reading all the reviews, we purchased the MP610 to replace our dead scanner....Although we have had it only a short time it has proved to be a very capable piece of equipment, performing as we had anticipated according to the reviews. If you are not a professional, this unit will do a great job for the average user! The rebate made it even more attractive and practical.
4 stars AFTER exchange for working machine
my husband and i decided to replace our epson r300 with a multifunction since i'm no longer working in an office, yet need the scan & copy functions in addition to plain print. the
canon
pixma
mp610
is wonderful thus far, but this is our second machine. the first
one
we received here was DOA but after speaking with a very helpful canon rep we were told that this happens somewhat frequently. they offered to pay for it to be fixed or to pay shipping both ways for us to return our lemon and then send us a refurbished machine that had been tested and was good to go. they couldn't have made it easier and we're very pleased with the new/refurbished canon pixma mp610 we have now. i loved my epson but the
photo
printing alone blows it away, and then to have scanning and copying capabilities is fantastic.

Works great so far!
Printing and scanning are fast enough for my needs and look great. Very happy.

y I was so excited. Invitations on matte paper provided with
printer
came out beautiful. Took me a while to figure out how to do
a simple copy. I am used to the kind you put original in the back, you hit a button and it pops out the front. Now I am trying to figure out how to just get a plain black and white
photo
to copy black and white instead of purple/pink faded tingt and the details of the photo not clear. When I have more time I will have to talk directly to Technical support. The e-mail method was not helpful as I have already read the manual from front to back a couple of times. I think eventually I will learn to love it as soon as I quit lopping off heads and producing prints that are half off the page--I guess that's a bit of an exageration. Some of my pictures have come out professional quality--amazing.
