Amazing little solution

I cannot understand why more people do not use this item, with all the hype about other PDAs and smart phones. It is just the right size - bigger than a phone, smaller than an ordinary laptop, and does everything one would want of a full size laptop. Using Google keeps all your data and photos safe and handy in their memory. Perfect solution for portable computing at the right price.

very good computer for traveling

This is a very small computer, has 4 gb of memory for that reason you don't have much space for store information, but for that reason i recomend this for traveling to be in contact in Internet with your office or family, also you can have installed and microsoft office, to process documents, etc.

This is an amazing gadget. It will do almost everything an ordinary computer can do. Certainly it does all one would need to do while traveling

wish battery life was longer

I really like this computer.except for the battery life is very short! except for that this mini computer is top of the line in my book. It does all that it claims and more. if only the battery life was better I could have given it 5 stars instead of only 4. but I still love the compact, portabilities that it has and The price was very reasonable.So I would still recommend this mini computer to someone who needs portability as well as reliability.

Great machine while it lasted

I got this computer for use as a secondary computer, not as my primary machine. I want something light, portable, inexpensive, reliable for basic wordprocessing, presentations, email, surfing, with good wireless access. I planned to take it to meetings and conferences that didn't require the presence of my much heavier Gateway TabletPC. The ASUS EEE PC 4G arrived within several days of ordering it. Upon opening the box, I discovered that it was shipped without any packing material. None. Not an auspicious start. However, once the battery was charged, the ASUS EEE PC 4G was up and running, ready to go after only 2-3 start-up steps. I *never* owned a computer that did that! So unlike my experience with Windows machines, all of which required hours to get them working right. I got the Linux version, thereby avoiding the headaches of constant updates, virus attacks and other XP related pleasures. It was my first non-Windows machine since the ol' Mac PowerPC of the early 1990s.
To test it out, I took the ASUS EEE PC 4G to a major conference, and it ran my presentation (via Open Windows) flawlessly. It connected to any and every WiFi I desired without a hitch. Open Windows worked with my MS files with no problem. I did add a few modifications to the basic machine. I replaced the 512 MB ram card with a 1GB card, and added external 8G SD card for additional memory. Worked great. The battery life was a bit disappointing. Only about 2 hours. However, it ran much cooler than my TabletPC, and quieter too.
I should also mention the great user group [..]). You couldn't find a friendlier, more helpful group, especially for newbies like moi. All in all, I love the Asus EEE PC!
Well, loved it. Unfortunately, the hard-drive malfunctioned two weeks after I got it. Saddened, I sent it back, and they gave me a full refund without question. I will probably get another one, as soon as I save up enough cash.
