Very good resource
Buy, read, re-read. Fantastic. I did not, however, find the other
Medmaster
books quite as fantastic as this one. It uses humor, helps you remember with cool diagrams and charts, and integrates the drugs into the chapters as well, so they are right next to the bug you use them for. I would advise using it throughout your first 2 years and then again for boards.
Buy this book and pass!
Fantastic book for the visual learner. When your brain is so full and you cannot rote learn words anymore, the pictures really help. I will always remember salmonella can lodge in the gall bladder with the picture of the salmon relaxing in there. It really helps when your brain is so full you can't memorise anymore. No immunology included.

depends on preference
First of all it depends aon preference to determine if this book is for you. IT contains alot of pneumonics and diagrams, which helps in remebering stuff. however it does not have immuno. IT is not detailed enough for the classroom and too detailed for the step 1.I think there are better alternatives. You can read "review medical micro and immuno" for the classroom and use first aid for the shelves and the step 1. I tried using the former for the step 1, but it was too much info, so i switched to first aid.i ended up makin a 229/95 on step 1.

Review
This is really an excellent syllabus or outline that puts the material in a straightforward summary fashion. It presumes s basic knowledge of
clinical
biology.

Excellent book
The mnemonics and pictures are a little corny sometimes, but whatever helps you remember, right? The colloquial style is also a welcome change from the drab rhetoric of standard textbooks and a much easier read. The material otherwise covers just the right amount of detail for med school
microbiology
courses. The only thing that would make this book better would be to include immunology, since it's related and usually taught together, but I guess then you'd be buying one book instead of two ;)
